“I’ll just v**e instead, it’s not as bad”

That’s the little story a lot of brains are running right now. Then suddenly it’s:
• First thing in the morning
• All through work
• In the car
• Before bed

Va**ng lights up the same “feel better now” circuits in your brain that smoking does. Your unconscious mind doesn’t care whether it’s a cigarette or a mango‑ice cloud, it just knows... “This changes how I feel.”

In a quit va**ng session we unpack the *real* job your brain is trying to do with that device (calm, focus, reward, escape…), then we give it better tools and put va**ng on your internal NO list. Most people are surprised by how calm they feel without it.

I am not in the business of making people cluck like chickens. I am in the business of teaching your mind new ways to think, feel and respond so you can stop doing the things that are making you miserable.

You stay awake. You stay in control. You can hear everything I say and your own thoughts about it. We simply use a natural state of focused attention to talk to the part of your mind that actually runs your habits and emotional reactions.

You are not the only one. Most of my quit smoking clients are smart, capable people who are completely over it and still find themselves lighting up.

In a quit session we unpack the pattern underneath the habit, show your mind what it is really trying to do for you, and then give it better options. Most people stop in one intensive session, with follow up available if we need to untangle a few extra things.

One tiny anxiety trick you can steal today

Next time your brain starts catastrophising (“What if this goes wrong?” “What if I stuff it up?”), give the story a silly Netflix title.

Instead of “I’m a mess”, it becomes:
Season 4, Episode 3 – Helen Imagines Everyone Hates Her Emails.

The second you name it, you’ve stepped out of it. You’re no longer *inside* the drama, you’re watching it from the couch with snacks. From there, it’s a lot easier to change the channel.

This is one of the simple cognitive tricks I give clients alongside the deeper hypnotherapy work. You need both, the quick tools and the pattern change underneath, for real, lasting relief.

"I have not laughed that much in years"

That was a client walking out of a session where we had just rewired a pattern that had been running her life for a decade. People are often surprised that the work is light and even funny at times. We are doing serious things, but your unconscious mind actually responds better when you are not miserable.

Whether it is anxiety, smoking, food or something else completely, my aim is always the same. Help you understand what your mind has been doing, change it at the unconscious level, and give you tools so you can keep programming yourself long after you leave my office.

Your body is exhausted but your mind is writing a 6 part drama series at 11 pm

That doesn't mean you're broken. It means your nervous system has forgotten how to switch off. It thinks staying on is the safest option.

You can't bully your brain into sleep with "just relax" and "stop overthinking". That usually makes it worse. What does help is giving your unconscious mind a clear job to do so it doesn't have to keep scanning for danger all night.

In sessions I teach clients simple mind training tools and then we use hypnotherapy to reset the pattern underneath, so your system remembers how to down shift again.
