In this practice we create space to receive deep nourishment. It's an invitation to allow ourselves to RECIEVE.

The path of motherhood is a path of constant giving, and sometimes it might feel unbalanced, we might feel we are giving everything and not receiving as much as we would like to.

And many times this is created by us. We overload ourselves, we are constantly doing, and in this doing we don't allow space for something to come in, for us to receive. It is so important that as mothers we give from a place that does not deplete our energy.

Being a mother involves many sleepless nights, tiredness, pain in the body, emotional tension, all what we go through in our physical body in pregnancy, the stretching of our body, the heaviness, the opening, lactation, carrying our babies. All the emotional tension.

All of this is accumulated in our physical and energetic body, it all leaves footprints. And stagnations start to build up, tension builds up, unbalances. So this practice is about coming back to our balanced expression.

Once again we find stillness and from this space so much is revealed. the tendencies of our breath to be scattered or short, or the resistances of our body to allow the nourishing flow of breath in. The tendencies of our bodies to tense certain areas. Or the mental patterns that arise.

So this practice is about reclaiming our Balance.

Melting into Stillness and Silence

This practice is an invitation to receive the gift of stillness and silence, which as mothers is a very precious and rare gift.

So that when you meet the intensity of life again you have this anchor you can come back to. So that you can hold this stillness in your mind while doing, this spaciousness and silence in your communication, with your children, with your partner...

We are living in a really fast paced reality which doesn't support mothers in many ways. We are very conditioned to DO. Doing is overvalued. And as mothers we tend to overload ourselves and we become unbalanced.

So in this reality Stillness becomes a discipline. We have to break through our conditioned patterns.

And when we do find stillness, when we do allow ourselves to BE such depth is revealed. We experience life in a more sensual way, our senses become engaged, our feelings become alive, we can feel love, gratitude... if we pay attention these profound experiences don't happen when we are busy overdoing, they happen when we allow space.

Vivimos en una realidad que no apoya la Maternidad. Estamos muy condicionados a HACER. El hacer está sobrevalorado. Y como madres tendemos a sobrecargarnos y nos desequilibramos. En esta realidad, la quietud se convierte en una disciplina. Tenemos que romper con nuestros patrones condicionados.

Softening, our True Essence and Right

This is a very gentle practice, as we want to call into our lives more easefulness, more gentleness.

We want to teach our bodies and minds that things don't need to be hard, that we don't need to constantly be pushing, that we can relax into life and enjoy the flow. And it all starts by being able to relax in our own skin, to make this an embodied reality.

This is deep collective healing as women, to relearn, to remember, what our grandmothers already knew. To relearn how to BE instead of constantly needing to DO.

This is our feminine essence and right. So by doing this we are healing a collective wound as we step into our place as women.

It is an act of nourishment and self love that all our cells receive. And from this softness unfolds the capacity to nurture, our children, our partners, our dreams and visions.

This is the invitation of this practice

Esta es una práctica gentil, ya que queremos traer a nuestras vidas más tranquilidad, más suavidad.

Queremos enseñar a nuestros cuerpos y mentes que las cosas no tienen por qué ser difíciles, que no necesitamos esforzarnos constantemente, que podemos relajarnos en la vida y fluir con ella. Y todo empieza por poder relajarnos en nuestra propia piel, para hacer de esto una realidad encarnada.

Esta es una profunda sanación colectiva como mujeres, reaprender, recordar lo que nuestras abuelas ya sabían. Reaprender a SER en lugar de necesitar HACER constantemente.

Esta es nuestra esencia femenina. Entonces, al hacer esto, estamos curando una herida colectiva a medida que asumimos nuestro lugar como mujeres.

Es un acto de nutrición y amor propio que reciben todas nuestras células. Y a partir de aqui se genera la capacidad de nutrir a nuestros hijos, nuestras parejas, nuestros sueños y visiones.

Esta es la invitación de esta práctica.

Becoming a mother is the biggest initiation into understanding what it is to be a woman walking on this Earth, as a giver of life, a carrier of water, a true portal of the universe. Allowing the Mystery of life to work through us.
Embodying this miraculous organism that is able to create and carry life, to create food, to grow and stretch and adapt and open and let go. With an intelligence that goes way beyond the intelligence of our mind, way beyond our control.
And our wombs go through so much in all of this process, the expansion, the contraction, the release, the letting go, some of us received cuts in our wombs... even before becoming mothers, what we might have experienced as women, repression around our cycles, repression around sexuality, sexual abuse, and all of this is carried in our wombs, in our waters, it's where we carry our emotional energy.
So in this practice we take time to honor our womb space, this sacred altar from which we create, from which we dream from, from which we manifest from, our seat of Power.

Lighting a candle at the altar of the heart

This practice is about honoring our heart space.

Many spiritual traditions speak about the importance of this part of our being, this part of our organism. In yoga there is the understanding that it's where our individual soul and Divity are in closest proximity.

If we embrace the view of our body as our temple, this temple has many altars, each altar being a chakra in our body. We have 108 chakras, 7 main ones running along our spine.

We understand a chakra as a point where many energy channels intersect, so it's a very potent centre of energy. The frequency at which the energy vibrates at that chakra it's what's give this chakra it's characteristics.

Coming back to perceiving our body as our temple, when we do our practice we come in to our temple. When we work on certain part of our body, or specific chakra, we approach one of the altars in the temple.

Through asana we open, through pranayama we direct prana into this area. Its like coming into the temple opening the windows, letting fresh air in, smudging, lighting a candle, setting our intention, paying our reverence.

In this practice we honor our heart chakra, this center of kindness, compassion, which moves us towards emotional intelligence, towards devotion to the sacred.

PRACTICE #2

This practice is about building up VYANA VAYU. This term comes from Ta***ic Hatha Yoga, in which we study how to shape prana to attain specific qualities.

Vyana is a very energizing force, its revitilizing. When we are shaping Vyana, we are creating more flow of energy, through our system.

We do this mainly by asana and breathwork. Laterals is the main pose category that we use to create Vyana. Our side bodies, our intercostal muscles, are full of energy channels, so when we open up the sides through the postures and breath into it, we have access to a massive amount of prana.

This principle which we create in our physical and energetic body will then ripple into our life, as we are a microcosms of the macro.

So this practice is about building up Vyana within oursleves, embodying this quality so that we invite more flow into our lives. We can use this practice when we are feeling low in energy, but also when things are feeling stuck in our lives and we want to call in more flow.

This practice is about building up APANA VAYU, which is the downwards flow of energy.

Through specific poses and breathwork we shape prana so it's directed in a downwards direction, resulting in a very stabilizing and grounding quality.

It is very stabilizing for the mind, which as mamas we need so much (well everyone does).

Apana connects us back to the Earth body, the most stable and solid of the elements.

There is a lot of work with Mula bandha, the root lock, which also shapes Apana and is great both to prepare for birth and to restore after.
