Cardiac Responder CARDIAC Responder is 100% focused on deployment of reliable defibrillators and AED rescue systems.

Our innovative, patented system is used across three countries. Protect your staff and community with an Australian owned, made and designed innovation. The world’s leading companies and safety experts choose CARDIAC Responder to protect their most valued assets…people. CARDIAC Responder’s automated external defibrillator system is patented in Australia and enables the remote monitoring of defibrillators to ensure that they are there and that they work when needed. Imagine trying to use a defibrillator that has no working battery, expired electrodes or a software malfunction. Without daily checks, as many as 1 in 5 defibrillators deployed will not work properly during it's lifetime. Sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of sudden death in Western society. CARDIAC Responder is dedicated to protecting people at work and in public areas from this treatable condition. We are the only company that provides:

Monitored defibrillator / AED rescue systems
Rescuer training, support, emergency response and medical oversight
Defibrillator / AED reliability guarantee
Live GPS tracking
Independent Online Defib Management system (DEFIBNET)

It's world heart day, which looks to improve knowledge about heart health and heart issues occurring every day across the world.
Heart attack and sudden cardiac arrest are two terms that are used interchangeably even though both are different from one another. When an individual has a heart attack, it is due to a blockage in the arteries which leads to sudden chest pain, sweating, palpitation, sinking sensation and anxiety. If left untreated, this can lead to a cardiac arrest. However, there are other causes of sudden cardiac arrest, including presumed cardiac issues, terminal illness, strangulation/asphyxiation, major blood loss, overdose or poisoning, major respiratory issues and drowning. The signs and symptoms of a person in cardiac arrest is NO RESPONSE and NO BREATHING / NOT BREATHING PROPERLY. Immediate action is required to CALL (for EMS & for AED) > PUSH (perform CPR) > SHOCK (use the AED). Most people don't know that this last step rarely occurs and over 90% of people in cardiac arrest out of hospital are unfortunately a statistic. Make contact to learn more about improving the chain of survival and getting working and accessible defibrillators to your community.

Who's responsibility is it to check your defibrillator? How often is this done? How often is this actually done? In worst case scenarios, it is never. Less worse scenarios, once a year or once a month. How about once per day? How about every hour, every day? How about every minute of every hour? The implications of not checking and managing properly your defib are identified in this news post from Ireland. Like cardiac arrest, this litigation could happen anywhere, at any time. Contact us now to chat through what a better checking regime may be for your community or workplace defibrillator.

The family of a woman who died from a heart attack has settled its case against the manufacturer and supplier of a defibrillator which it was claimed was not working when she became ill while at work.

A Public Access Defibrillator means it is always available and always accessible. With more people working from home and not able to access their workplace defibrillator or if the local defib is locked due to out of hours / COVID shutdown, look for these types of deployments in your community, especially on the Northern Beaches and other locations across Sydney.

On a recent site visit 4 out of 5 defibrillators were not working, which exceeds the statistical average where 1 in 5 are not working. Issues included batteries flat for over 18 months, electrodes out of date by 2 years, defibrillators over 15 years old and recalled defibrillators deployed. In addition, three of the five defibs were locked behind doors that only 1 in 500 people had access. These defibrillators were purchased by different departments, there was no management ownership and of course no daily checks nor supporting training.

If any of these issues are present for deployments of life saving devices at your workplace, then rest assured that companies like Cardiac Responder can assist. Drop us a line today to discuss improving safety and reliability with a viable and cost effective solution.

A new study shows sudden cardiac arrests cost the Australian economy approximately $2 billion in lost productivity each year, but doctors say it's nothing compared to the toll on families left behind.
