Meet Dr Carolyn Ross - a comprehensive ophthalmologist specialising in cornea, cataract surgery, and paediatric eye care. She treats conditions such as keratoconus and Fuchs’ Endothelial Dystrophy, and holds senior roles at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Trained at Sydney Eye Hospital with a corneal fellowship at Flinders Medical Centre, she also provides outreach to rural and Indigenous communities and has volunteered in Papua New Guinea, Cambodia, and Laos. Meet Dr Richard Parker - a specialist ophthalmologist, sub-specialising in oculoplastic (eyelid, lacrimal and orbital) surgery. He treats a wide range of oculoplastic conditions, including heavy and droopy eyelids (blepharoplasty and ptosis), eyelid malposition, cancers of the eyelids and surface of the eye, facial nerve palsy, blepharospasm, dry eyes, watery eyes (including external and endonasal DCR surgery), and orbital surgery including thyroid eye disease, orbital inflammation, and orbital tumours. Dr Parker also manages general ophthalmic conditions and performs cataract surgery (including multifocal and extended-depth of focus intraocular lenses) and pterygium surgery. He is involved with multidisciplinary teams for managing patients with complex conditions, particularly cancers around the orbit.

Dr Parker treats private patients at a variety of locations around Sydney and NSW. He treats public patients at RNSH. He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer for USYD, coordinating the Ophthalmic Anatomy unit of the Master of Medicine (Ophthalmic Science) program. He examines ophthalmology trainees in the OBCK examination for RANZCO and is involved in the training of registrars at RNSH.

Meet Dr Sophia Zagora - specialising in the management of medical retina, inflammatory disorders of the eye, glaucoma and cataract. These include the most common causes of visual loss: macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusion.

Dr Zagora is a Consultant Eye Surgeon Staff Specialist at Sydney Eye Hospital; and Uveitis Consultant at Westmead Children’s Hospital; as well as Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney.

As a Clinical Academic, Dr Zagora has published widely in peer-reviewed ophthalmic journals and has an ongoing interest in clinical research. She is actively involved as an investigator in clinical trials to treat uveitis and blinding retinal conditions.

Meet Professor Clare Fraser - specialising in neuro-ophthalmology and strabismus.

She completed her ophthalmic training at Sydney Eye Hospital and neuro-ophthalmic training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology, London. She completed a Research Fellowship at Emory Eye Centre, Atlanta and was a consultant neuro-ophthalmologist for Moorfields Eye Hospital and King's College Hospital, London.

Prof Fraser is now a Professor at the University of Sydney and Macquarie University, and consults at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney Eye Hospital and Macquarie University Hospital.

Meet Dr Claire Hooper - medical retina and uveitis specialist.

Dr Hooper has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular disorders and inflammatory conditions of the eye (uveitis and scleritis).

Dr Hooper is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney and affiliated with Save Sight Institute, University of Sydney. She is also Section Editor for the Clinical & Experimental Ophthalmology. Dr Hooper has been involved in clinical trials for macular degeneration and published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and co-written three book chapters.

Meet Dr Sartaj Sandhu - fellowship-trained glaucoma sub-specialist and comprehensive ophthalmologist. He is an experienced cataract and glaucoma surgeon with a proficiency in the management of complex/advanced cataracts, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), glaucoma and retinal diseases including macular degeneration and retinal vein occlusions, also well experienced in pterygium surgery.

Dr Sandhu is actively involved in research, having contributed to several internationally recognised journals and is engaged in the teaching of medical students, junior doctors and ophthalmology trainees through his role as a consultant ophthalmologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney.

Meet Dr Yves Kerdraon - a local ophthalmologist who has a particular interest and subspecialty training in diseases of the cornea and regularly performs corneal transplants, other corneal surgery, cataract surgery and complex reconstructions of the eye.

Dr Kerdraon is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney and maintains a significant role in the education of ophthalmology trainees, junior doctors, medical students and nurses. In addition to his private practice, he also has an appointment at a public teaching hospital.

Meet Dr Brian Chua — glaucoma specialist & cataract surgeon.

Dr Chua holds degrees in medicine, science, and public health from the University of Sydney. After completing his ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital, he pursued sub-specialist fellowship training in glaucoma at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

He played a key role in the Blue Mountains Eye Study and is now a clinical senior lecturer at the University of Sydney, a staff specialist at Sydney Eye Hospital, and a visiting medical officer at St Vincent’s and Macquarie University Hospitals.
