Please note that over the next 2 weeks Hayley, our fantastic receptionist, will be on leave so I will be responding to phone calls and messages in between seeing patients, so please be patient with the delay in response.

CHEERS TO 10 YEARS! A MILESTONE FOR REMEDIAL PLUS
From a humble spare room at home to a thriving clinic in the heart of Gordonvale, Tess Godfrey has spent the past decade turning a passion into a profession — and Remedial Plus into a local success story.
Tess’s journey began with a simple love for understanding how the human body works. After dipping her toes into naturopathy and quickly discovering her affinity for massage and manual therapy, she made a bold move into remedial massage. That decision led to years of study, courses, conferences — and a growing reputation as one of the most respected therapists in the region.
Now an accredited Lymphoedema Practitioner and Oncology Massage Therapist, Tess works alongside a talented team in Bryce’s Arcade. She credits much of her growth to the support of others, including the ever-encouraging physiotherapist Helen Cooper, and the wider Gordonvale community, whose belief in her has allowed Remedial Plus to flourish.
In true Tess style, she’s given back generously — sponsoring local footy, touch and AFL clubs, supporting major events like the Gordonvale and Great Pyramid Races, and donating to numerous fundraising efforts.
Tess’s work ethic, empathy and passion for continuous learning have taken her around the world — from providing massage for elite sporting teams like Tonga and Samoa’s Rugby League squads, to upskilling in Scotland with world leaders in scar tissue therapy.
Congratulations, Tess, on 10 incredible years of healing, growth, and community connection. Here’s to the next decade of learning, expanding, and inspiring.

Excited to join the amazing team at Couch!

NEW SERVICE TO SUPPORT YOU 🫵
We’re excited to welcome Tess Godfrey, a qualified lymphoedema therapist, to the COUCH Wellness team!
Tess brings a wealth of experience as a remedial massage therapist and is certified in both Vodder Lymphoedema Therapy and oncology massage. As an ALA-accredited lymphoedema therapist she can safely assist with swelling, fluid retention, and gentle pain relief for those affected by cancer or cancer treatment.

From Friday, August 22, Tess will be consulting at COUCH each week and offering:
👉 Manual lymphatic drainage
👉 Decongestive therapy (including compression)
👉 Self-drainage education

“It’s a gentle skin technique that can help decrease fluid in the limbs. I’m looking forward to supporting people at COUCH who need this specialised care,” says Tess.
Her appointment follows the recent introduction of GP services at the centre — as we continue to expand to meet growing needs across FNQ.

Remedial Plus turns 10 today!!!

I couldn’t have done it without your support! I started out with very humble beginnings practicing from my spare room at home, not knowing how this would pan out. Many, many, many courses and conferences later, I am now an accredited Lymphoedema Practitioner and Remedial and Oncology Massage Therapist working from my busy clinic set amongst other amazing professionals (Thank you Helen for your constant support and encouragement).

The support from this community means that over the years I have been able to sponsor and contribute to our local rugby, touch and AFL clubs, local events such as the Gordonvale Races and the Great Pyramid Race, and gift prizes for fundraising to many causes.

10 years certainly goes by pretty fast. I feel like I’ve only just started, there’s so much more to learn! I have no idea where the next 10 years will lead me, but I’m sure it will be just as interesting and fun as the last 10.

So a massive thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way! Here’s to another 10 🥂 🥳 ✌️ (unless I win the lotto then 👋)

Not sure if it’s a sprain, strain, or something worse?
Before you take advice from Google or your well-meaning neighbour, consider seeing a physiotherapist.

Your physio won’t just guess — we listen to your story, assess your movement, and get to the root of the problem.
Many conditions that seem “incurable” or long-lasting can be relieved quickly with the right treatment and advice delivered in a timely fashion.

We’ve seen it all — sore backs, niggly knees, shoulder pain that won’t go away — and we know how to guide you back to feeling strong and confident again.

Get advice from someone trained to understand your body — not someone who read about it online! Worried that you might need a scan first? Many issues can be diagnosed without Xrays and other scans. If your physiotherapist really thinks you need a referral they can easily do this as they work as part of your medical team.
