"Our results are consistent with a study of older adults in the Seniors-Estudio Sobre Nutrición y Riesgo Cardiovascular study in Spain, which found that higher plant protein consumption was associated with higher odds of healthy aging. Additionally, replacing animal protein, total carbohydrates, or total fat with plant protein was significantly associated with higher odds of healthy aging in that population, which is in line with our findings"
