An important reminder that breast cancer can affect men too.
Martin, Russell’s brother-in-law, began noticing unusual symptoms in late 2024, blood-stained bedsheets and ni**le discharge. Despite normal results from early imaging, an MRI in January led to a diagnosis of male breast cancer in February.
Martin bravely shared his story to raise awareness that male breast cancer is real, and often overlooked. Early signs shouldn’t be ignored, early detection saves lives.
In November 2024, Martin noticed signs that something was wrong with his health.
“I started noticing dry crusty blood on my right ni**le and blood stains on the bed sheets in the mornings. By December my ni**le was leaking blood during the day and would result in blood stains forming on my shirt.”
After a mammogram and ultrasound showed nothing, Martin was sent to have an MRI in January and was diagnosed with breast cancer in February.
“I’ve had both female and male friends admit they were not aware men could get breast cancer, so I want to get my story out there so everyone understands it’s a possibility,” Martin says.
