Eating disorders can be complex and incredibly hard to treat. If you or someone you know are looking for help with overcoming an eating disorder, make sure you find a trained professional.

Have you seen the website for the the Australian Centre for Eating Disorders? There is helpful information on eating disorders and you can also find a practitioner trained with ACFED who can help you. If you are on the Central Coast NSW you can check out my bio here: https://www.acfed.com.au/users/nycole-reid if not there are other practitioners Australia wide on the website.

Finding someone that you can not only trust and feel ok with, but who is also qualified and knows how to treat eating disorders is so important.

"The more we talk about mental health issues and challenge the stigma around them, the easier it will be for people to seek help when they are struggling". More than 20 men across Australia will be letting their beards grow untamed for the rest of the year for beyondblue. Darwin mates Anthony Jowett and Kevin Perry were the first to take on the challenge following a friendly bet on who could grow the bushiest beard in twelve months. Anthony and Kevin decided to use their efforts to raise funds for beyondblue after a mutual close friend took his own life while experiencing depression last year. The men hope their beards will also spark casual conversations about anxiety and depression.

The group, known as the Bearded Brotherz, has already raised more than $6,000, far exceeding their initial goal of $2,000. For more information on how to join or to donate to the Bearded Brotherz, visit http://give.everydayhero.com/au/brotherz
