Hello ….. I would like to acknowledge the courage it takes to admit “I’m not coping and I need to talk to someone”. Deciding to see a Counsellor is often a series of lots of little steps. Maybe you have been struggling for a very long time. Picking up the phone and making the appointment and then attending your first counselling session are all enormous steps that takes great strength.
The reason why I decided on the name “All Sorts Counselling” is because I see all sorts of people (women & men), all ages (over 17) and from all walks of life, come to counselling, with all sorts of problems. As a Counsellor I have all sorts of unique ways to help my clients connect with their inner self & feel empowered to take small steps towards feeling better.
As your Counsellor, I will provide a professional, safe, confidential, non-judgemental trauma informed, space for you to:
TALK
Talking for some people does not come easy. It can make us feel vulnerable, ashamed or weak. Talking to a trained professional is completely different to talking with a friend. Counselling is an opportunity to talk freely about any problems that may be contributing to feeling stressed, overwhelmed, sad, worried or maybe angry. This experience then leads to be being heard, understood, empowered and to experience self compassion.
Speaking out loud helps you put things into perspective to clarify what action you need to take.
As Brene Brown says “talking brings shame out of hiding and brings an end to silence” . Being vulnerable leads to courage and discovering inner strength.
