One of my favourite Cotswolds village so far is lower slaughter. Very peaceful and absolutely stunning.

Then on to Blockley, another gorgeous little village where the church bells were ringing which I discovered were being rung by Bell pullers. Arms would be burning.
Stanton was another untouched village where you could just sit and watch the world go by.
My other favourite for the day was Sudeley Castle. They gardens were magnificent and the palace very interesting. There was grapes to do if you had kids including a maze.

I went back to Bourton on the water to check out the miniature village. It’s a replica of the village and is just amazing. For those who remember Brum, there is a motor museum. It is also represented in the miniature village. See if you can spot Brum!
Also went to see Shakespeare’s birth place which is the only building photo. I just refused to pay 27 pounds to see inside. Don’t love Shakespeare enough for that!

Snowshill, another gorgeous villager in the Cotswolds. I also visited the Snowshill Manor. Beautiful gardens and a manor never lived in by the owner who lived in the out houses, filled with treasures from around the world like a museum but not. Really enjoyed it.
Then on to Chipping Camden. Visited the church which was stunning and a gentle walk around the village. Home of Welch silver ware

The Scottish highlands are vast ruggered and stunning it rained, it snowed and the wind howled. Glencoe was our first stop and lunch at Fort William the food was delicious. pea soup and steak sandwich at a little pub, then to Glenfinnan Via Duct. The duct that is in the Harry Potter movie. Stunning with a river running beside it. What a great day!

The Kelpies were incredible. Huge and so accurate. I climbed a hill (yes uphill for those that know me well, i don’t do running or uphill) to see Loch Lomond so worth it and the wind nearly blew me off the edge. Stirling Castle was majestic and interesting. The tour guide there was very good and I learnt lots.

The buildings in Edinburgh are incredible. Today I went on the hop on Off bus and a tour of the vaults. Underground rooms in a bridge. Too dark too photograph excepting for a white witches vault. People slept in these dark damp vaults filled with horrible things and smells (you can imagine, no plumbing), because they were free and safer than the streets. I am grateful for a dry clean bed and plumbing.
Found an Aussie pub on the way NRL included.
I also had the best chicken pie in a little pub on the Royal mile. The pies are delicious.
It was bitterly cold with horrible winds today, which meant layers and layers. A bit of sleet as well. Loved it !
