Goldsmith Street Surgery is please to welcome Dr Shirley Jenkins. Dr Jenkins will be starting 23rd September 2024.
Dr Shirley Jenkins is a dedicated General Practitioner Registrar hailing from Queensland, who is now proudly serving the community of Goulburn.
Her commitment to providing quality healthcare and building strong relationships with patients is central to her approach and dedication to patient-centred care. Beginning her healthcare career as a Registered Nurse, Dr Jenkins developed a deep understanding of patient care and compassion, driving her t pursue studies in Medicine to become a well-rounded and empathetic doctor.
Her interests encompass a diverse range of fields, include women's health and fertility to which she brings compassionate understanding, chronic disease management where she enjoys the challenge of navigating complex conditions to improve a patient's quality of life, mental health to ensure patients receive the support and resources needed and palliative care to offer comfort and dignity to patients facing end-of-life challenges. She strives to be a trusted ally for patients and aims to provide an enriching healthcare experience for each of her patients.

OUT WITH THE OLD IN WITH THE NEW!
From the Manager Mandy
To all our wonderful patients at Goldsmith Street Surgery.
I want to personally thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.
Many of you already know me, but for those who don't my name is Mandy McColl, and I've had the privilege of being the Practice Manager here for the past four years.
I'm writing to let you know that I will be retiring from my role as Practice Manager on the 10th of October 2024. Jeff Hayward, whom you may know as one of our receptionist, will be stepping into this role, and I have every confidence that he will do an excellent job. I can't guarantee he'll dress up at Christmas time, though!
My career in the medical field spans 44 years, starting as a junior at a large practice in Goulburn. Over the years, I have seen many changes, including everything being manual and the transfer to computers and the introduction to Medicare. One thing that I will never forget and it was the days when patients and staff smoked in the waiting room, and I had to actually go around and clean the ashtrays. Can you ever imagine this ever happening!!
I have worked with more than 400 staff, including doctors and nurses, building friendships with many of them and their families - friendships that continue to this day. I've witnessed the growth of babies into adults, who then became parents themselves. These are memories I cherish deeply.
I would like to thank the owner of Goldsmith Street Surgery, Dr Ruth Edwards for affording me the opportunity to extend my many years of experience as Manager.
The decision to retire has been a difficult one because I genuinely love my job and all of you, our amazing patients. I will miss sitting in the waiting room, having a chat, and offering chocolates.
I want to thank you all for making these last few years of my journey truly fantastic. I hope that if you see me out and about, you'll say hello and have a chat. Who knows - I might not take to retirement and could be back to help if needed.
I have worked with beautiful staff and doctors at Goldsmith Street Surgery we are family.
I have met some wonderful patients, and you all know who you are - you will always be in my heart. I wish everyone a happy and healthy future.

I want to apologise to all our patients. We have had no internet the last few days, which means no phone lines. Apparently someone crashed into the nbn close to the surgery which resulted with no internet we have been trying to get back on board but may take a while. We have diverted the phone to a mobile but unfortunately you can not leave any message. If you need to contact urgently please do by leaving a msg on messenger as I will keep an eye on this. NBN are hopeless.
Again I apologise for any convenience. Hopefully will be fixed by Monday. From the manager

Goldsmith Street Surgery is pleased to welcome Dr Zamyad Salaty.
Dr Salaty has been working as a Medical Doctor since 2000. He started his career working as a GP in rural areas, where he developed a keen interest in managing Chronic Diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and osteoarthritis, as well as paediatric conditions. After a few years, he continued his practice in his own clinic in Tehran, the capital of Iran.

Several years later, he completed specialisation training in Orthopaedics and, for the past 15 years, in addition to general practice, has worked in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery, sports injuries, and fractures.

Having gained extensive experience in treating sports injuries, disc diseases, osteoarthritis, tendon injuries, fractures, and performing joint and tendon injections, he has performed more than 3000 surgeries and hopes to use experience to help the people in his new community of Goulburn.

In 2022, with his wife and daughter, he migrated to Australia, and hopes to continue helping patients here and expanding his knowledge in such a beautiful country.

His skills and experience will be a great asset to our Medical Practice.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR DR LARIS'S PATIENTS AT GOLDSMITH STREET SURGERY.

We regret to inform you that Dr Larisa will be taking a 6-month leave of absence from her practice to further her studies in palliative care. She will return in February 2025 and staying permanently.

During her absence, Dr Zamyad Salaty will be taking over Dr Larisa's patients. If you prefer to see a female doctor, Dr Natalia Peker is available, but please note that she is usually booked out a week in advance. Additionally, Dr Arman shooli is also available for appointments.

Goldsmith Street Surgery is pleased to welcome Dr Larisa Sadaunichaya (will be known as Dr Larisa) to our clinic.
Dr Larisa is a very experience, highly motivated, passionate and well liked doctor.
Dr Larisa began her career as a doctor in Belarus where she specialised in Respiratory Medicine for 12 years before moving the Australia in 2003 Following her move, she completed further studies to be recognised in the field of General Practice in Australia, which she has proudly been a part of for the last 16 years. During this time she spent 8 years working as a full time GP in Culburra Beach, then a further 8 years as an after-hours doctor in the Illawarra region before joining our team earlier this year.
She prides herself in the dedication to providing high standard of patient care and taking an interest in the patient as a whole. She is known for her understandable and concise communication and attention to detail. Her skills and experience has been a great asset to our medical practice.
