Age is not a disease, but to keep our golden oldies living healthy and active lives, it is always better to detect issues early!
During our consultations with senior pets, we complete a thorough physical exam focused on detecting early signs of issues such as arthritis, dental disease, cognitive dysfunction and skin lumps.
In June, we will be running a promotion for $220, which includes a consultation, a full blood panel to check for early signs of disease and a discussion of treatment options, plus free urine testing.
This promotion is open to all dogs aged 7+, and cats aged 9+

We are super excited to officially announce that Dr Maddy, Dr Elise, Dr Jesse and wife Ruby have purchased the business from Dr Mandy. This is great news as the practice is still proudly independently owned and there will be no change to the staff or the level of care you have come to expect from us.

They are really looking forward to continuing to treat all of our amazing patients and to support there owners to keep their pets happy and healthy.

The Staff are super proud of them for taking the big leap into owning a business and are excited to work along side of them to grow and nurture the business. 💕🐾

We knew this day was coming but we all hoped it wouldn't, this week we bid farewell to Dr Mandy.
After 8 years at STVH, surviving buying a buisness during covid, to helping us grow into the thriving practice you see today, Dr Mandy has decided to try her hand at semi retirement.
She will be swapping frosty Goulburn mornings, for beach walks with her dog Chewy. Hopefully it is not goodbye forever and we can get her back for some holiday cover.
From everybody here at STVH, we want to thank Dr Mandy for her years of hard work and dedication to the people and the pets of Goulburn and wish her well for this next chapter. 💐💕

A few words from Dr Mandy-

After a wonderful career all around the world, I returned to Goulburn for my best chapter at STVH.

For the past 8 years surrounded by a wonderful team I was able to see the practice grow from strength to strength and am very happy to leave it in the capable hands of Maddy, Jesse and Elise and I doubt you’ll see a difference in the great standards and care.

As to what I plan to do next, have a look at the photos:

- Spend time with Richard and my family, hoping for more weddings and even a grandchild or two…

- Watch beautiful sunsets at the house we are building at Tuross and of course walk on the beach with our new pup “Chewy”.

It will be sad to leave the place, people and pets but travel is calling and locums are definitely on the cards both at STVH and on the coast.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the wonderful staff and clients and pets that I have had the pleasure to meet and treat over my time at STVH. 💐

🎆 Fireworks can be scary for our beloved pets, a reminder that this weekend the Goulburn North Public School is holding their annual "Family fun and Fireworks night" 🎆

If your pet has a fear of loud noises please keep them inside where they feel safe, play some soft music, distract them with a toy or some treats and make sure you comfort them through the duration of the firework display.

Remember a safe pet is a happy pet. 💕🐾

The closure of the Goulburn Correctional Centre would be devastating for the Goulburn community.
If you can, head down to Belmore Park today to show your support.

This Thursday I am standing in solidarity with and am rallying to support our Goulburn Correctional Centre community from what will be a catastrophic loss to the prosperity of our town if the proposed wing closures go ahead.
The Goulburn Correctional Centre has been a part of the Goulburn Mulwaree fabric and identity for over 142 years. My late Grandpa personally served there for over 20 years.
If this forced closure goes ahead, 137 full-time jobs, 35 casual jobs, 12 contractor jobs and approximately $20M from the local economy will be lost forever. Let that sink in.

Anoulack Chanthivong please re-consider this decision and know we won’t be giving up this fight anytime soon.

Big congratulations to an incredible achievement! 🎉🐾

Today we’re celebrating Bri completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing!
A huge milestone that reflects dedication, compassion, and countless hours of hard work. From caring for patients to supporting their owners, your passion for animals and their welfare really shines though.
To help Bri celebrate on Thursday one of our nurses made a large batch of scones with plenty jam and cream to go round😋

We’re so proud of you and can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll continue to do in the veterinary world 💕🐶🐱

On Anzac Day, we pause to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served, both human and animal. From a veterinary perspective, we also remember the horses, donkeys, dogs, pigeons and other animals who worked alongside troops, offering loyalty, transport, communication and companionship in the hardest of conditions.
Today, we pay tribute to their service and reflect on the enduring bond between people and animals.
Lest we forget.
