Hello everyone. Horses are so intrinsic with us in many cultures. I can sit on a horses back and ride does not make me a horsewomen xo Going through the archives of my posts xo be well A post from my horsewomens group reality so grateful for them and all of you. Sometimes things happen and you wonder could I have done better or something else. We do the best we can with the knowledge and environmental conditions we have xo
Hello ladies a post on reflection and stuff. I am a sucker for animals in need of healing even when you know the condition they have there is no known cure.
For 9 months we have known this cockatoo and their mate. The little one lost their life tonight not because anyone was bad. Crazy weather could not fly. Maremma did not mean to cause issue running around never touched the cockatoo they knew each other. It's crazy weather raining and I knew it was close to time. My old girls goes berserk running to the door yelling hey mum something is not right. I take off headphones bolt to the back door see our Maremma looking weird and uncertain. Partner comes running in from the hens area chases dog away get outta here and takes a gentle blanket to wrap the cockatoo in and place them in a safe area under the tree in our garden. It sux when wild life that trusts you dies though you know logically you did all you could and as crew we did. He or she suffered from that disease no known cure where the feathers fall off today was the last one when they could not take off.
Paddy was amazing today the head amigo. My daughter and I walked up to the 4wd to make sure she would start Paddy had a different energy to usual watching us. We get the car and start driving stop he comes jogging directly in front 4wd so we spend at least 5 minutes talking to him as he looks at us the car then we decide to reverse and drive. He trots along with us behind the car and me and my daughter in the car that has never happened ever. He will run with us in the field never before in the car.
It's been an amazing and sad day. To see a great friend whom we got to know well knowing there was no known cure and still they know us in their last breath huge.
Horses know stuff today Paddy knew I do not have to tell any of you ladies this .. they know when something is happening. Often before we do - they read us more than we read ourselves with honesty.
Living here 3 years in July we have had the honor to know some amazing wild animals. Wombats, cockatoos, wren, kangaroos and other local wildlife. Everyone around has had issues with snakes particularly brown snakes including the front paddock of our property. They never worry us .. odd hey
End of my rant a picture can you please imagine.
Last year in mid-winter a new pup wanted to play with herd animals. A Maremma sheep dog pup never has done anything to kill anything tries to return injured animals home only for us to find them dead aka hen fox then the maremma took a chunk out of said fox .. no more issues with foxes for everyone around us weird. I hope what I am typing makes sense.
Anyone knows possums will shred anything that is an issue to them with there claws. Nope a miracle last winter. My 15 year old daughter grabbed her shoes and jacket yelled at pup to bugga off (not the words used) jumped the fence ran into the middle of the paddock stook over the poor possum exhausted from the dog trying to play with it.
She was akin to an amazon warrior this poor possum on its back exhausted and she is standing over it this never happens trust implicit between a wild animal and family. Mind you this possum and their family have been with us since we moved here 3 years ago.
As mum omfg moments run into step sons room bellow your dog has my daughter and the possum bailed up. Did mention politely before the dog was hasseling the possum. He came out took one look omfg he had on shorts no shoes and went to where my daughter was he went white. Yelled at his dog get oughta here and since then when anything goes odd he knows to listen. He loves animals and will now listen.
Since living here, knowing you and being included in your stories, sharing my moments not being told to nick off on occasion someone says not sure where you are coming from.. I have never met many of you.. our connections are our horse and mutual love and respect. Its been an odd week thank you for listening and taking the time to accept an odd ball like me on a pool table.. be well to you all namaste xo
The photo is of the oldest and tallest tree for many yards we have seen crows, cockatoos, wrens, never these guys xo they are the ibis that show up. As a side not the one that we helped feed last year is now back with its partner as they navigate this area of life.
We are each others keepers in more ways than we will ever learn. By the way my little filly Shian I brought last year and supported doing well from Kosciosko xo Something to celebrate in those moments from dusk to
Shian thrived I could not logically support her the way I would like to plus now moving forward horse logic xo be well
