Hello! My name is Chlea. I am a Support Coordinator, Psychosocial Recovery Coach & Business Owner.

I’ve been in the disability industry for 8 years. Outside of lived experience, my professional began when working at the National Disability Insurance Agency in 2016. This sparked my passion and gave me a lot of knowledge on how the NDIS works.

I wanted to work in a more hands on role with participants, so began support work this year too.

In 2019 after a few years of support work and study, I started my role as a Support Coordinator. I have worked with a vast range of people and over the years found my strength in working with participants with a psychosocial diagnosis.

I love working with people to reach their goals and help make the most out of their plans. I am laid back, approachable and willing to help wherever I can.

In 2021 I started steele supports and am very proud of how it’s going ❤️

What is your favourite self-care activity? ✨

We know that for most people, mums, people with mental health or physical challenges, and just anyone, making self care a priority is hard!

But sometimes it’s as simple as just relaxing and doing nothing at all! 🤗

Meet Jess, our Mental Health Group Coordinator and Support Worker.

My name is Jess.

I have been working in the disability field for 4 years now. I am a patient and caring person, who loves to assist in building one's independence through community access.

Through my work, I have found my passion in mental health and helping people explore their interests.
I am currently studying a cert iv in mental health, and have completed my first year of my bachelor of psychology.

Getting to know individuals and having the privilege to watch them blossom in all aspects of life is something I will never get over! I truly believe that more understanding is needed for psychosocial affected participants, which is why I will always give my all to those I support.

Meet Angela - Support Coordinator and Psychosocial Recovery Coach

My passion for helping people become more independent and to live a more fulfilling life, stemmed from past lived experience in witnessing significant others struggle with their own mental health. The challenges of maintaining activities in daily living and the social exclusion that can follow can be crippling. I have witnessed the impact this has not only on the person but their carers and loved ones too. My lived experience has allowed me to explore new ways in how to improve a person’s social connectedness and build on meaningful relationships that may once have been severed. I am a strong believer that good communication with other mental health services and therapy groups involved in my participants care is vital to help them achieve their goals.

In 2021, I completed my Diploma of Health Science with the Australasian College of Natural Therapies (Torrens University) whilst raising 4 boisterous boys. With the skills and knowledge obtained, I developed a good holistic approach to improving participants nutritional health and improved sleep patterns which in turn, improves overall wellbeing.

After completing my Certificate 4 in Disability, working with people as their support worker was extremely rewarding. Seeing clients achieve their goals, create independence, and grow as a person while having fun along the way is a highlight of my career.

I have a person-centred approach and encourage independence and empower the participant to have control over their life. I believe I have the skills and knowledge in understanding the challenges faced for people with learning disabilities particularly with ADHD and autism spectrum disorder. I also have a sound knowledge and understanding of working with individuals with bipolar and schizophrenia disorders.

I have a bright outlook on life and will always look for the positive in life’s challenges. In order to provide the best care for my participant’s, my own self care is just as important. So, in my own time I enjoy outdoor activities including bike riding and skateboarding with my boys and playing with our 3 staffies.
