Participants needed for a study titled 'Men’s beliefs and attitudes towards relationships and dating opportunities'.

The purpose of this study is to explore heterosexual men’s beliefs and attitudes towards romantic and sexual relationships and dating opportunities.

We seek to identify factors that contribute to men’s relationship satisfaction and dating motivations. The research will be conducted via an anonymous computer-based task which involves answering questions and participating in a speed dating simulation. The whole study should take 20-30 minutes. Once the study is completed you will go into the draw to win 1 of 4 AUD$50 digital gift cards.

Participants must be Australian heterosexual men aged 18 years and older.

The study 'Who hunts and why? Individual and social predictors of hunting attitudes and behaviours' has temporarily closed data collection to address concerns expressed by members of the hunting community that they are being unfairly persecuted via the existence of the study and its measures. This belief is due to Dr Alexa Hayley's public status as a researcher in human-animals relationships and advocate for animal welfare, and the associated belief that the study must not have research integrity if the researcher values animals and asks questions some people, but not others, find uncomfortable to answer. This study was open to all Australians aged 18 years and older, regardless of gender and hunting experience, to complete. The aim was to collect a variety of perspectives on hunting in different contexts (including for food, conservation, sport, income, cultural reasons) within Australia, given the limited research to date on this. Given individuals in the hunting community have expressed they are experiencing negative emotions and distress due to the study, we will not continue collecting data until we have consulted with the Deakin University Human Research Ethics Committee.

To date, over 850 people (90% male hunters) have completed the study. We are interested in whether hunters who have completed the study would like to see a plain language report of results, once analysed.
