The Lunar New Year has always felt like my true New Year. 🌙

Since I entered this world, my family has honoured this time as a doorway, into new cycles, new opportunities, and fresh beginnings.

While Jan 1st may reset the calendar, this moment always resets my spirit.

I’m so grateful to have grown up with these traditions, to see life through the lens of astrology, the zodiac, and numerology. They’ve given me rhythm, reflection, and a deeper trust in divine timing.

The Year of the Snake brought soooo many levels of shedding. 🐍
For some of my clients, it brought tremendous shifts. For others, subtle but powerful refinements.

But across the board, I’ve witnessed a deepening in their relationship with their inner authority. There’s been a growing awareness of where their body sighs in relief… and where it tightens, guarding old pain patterns.

To watch people begin to understand their own bodily messages , to trust them , has been nothing short of an honour.

So grateful to be doing what I do. ✨

Here’s to the next cycle, and all that’s ready to emerge.

Lately, I’ve been reminiscing on my journey of understanding the body through my movement practices.

As a little girl, I would put on music, follow my breath, and let my body flow into the shapes it wanted to make. It was my meditation before I even knew what the word meant.

Later on dance became my outlet.
It started with hip hop in primary school that continued to draw me in during high school years as well.

On my first trip to Latin America, I cancelled my return ticket home as soon as I experienced the hot blooded culture of the salsa scene .

That same trip led me into my first yoga teacher training in Nicaragua where I was completely cracked open to the body–mind–spirit connection in a way that transformed me from the inside out.

When I returned to Australia, I threw myself into professional Brazilian Samba group. However, it didn’t take long to realise that I didn’t love performing. What I loved was the inner freedom of movement, not the stage.

I soon left, letting go of dancing for others and surrendered fully to a movement practice for me.

Years later, I found myself obsessed with the sense of liberation, and entered into the underwater world of freediving, where I eventually became a freedive instructor (currently on hold since becoming a mum)

The continuous exploration and expression of stepping into my body on my own terms is what inspires my bodywork today.

Because when you feel liberation in your own skin, when you dance to your own rhythm, you touch something sacred and you create an unshakeable foundation within yourself of who you are.

Something only you can know.🧡

This vessel we call the body holds intuition, expression, and so so much love. When we listen, it speaks. When we honour it, it becomes a vehicle to transcend and transform.

This is just part of the story that has led me here, to this work, and why I continue to share the medicine of touch, movement and embodiment with others.

With our partners, less is often more.

If you’re wanting more meaningful physical interactions and need some basic tips, here’s what I recommend.
✨ Start slow. Let your touch arrive gently, so the body has time to trust.
✨ Don’t fix. Healing doesn’t always mean changing something, sometimes we need the space to allow things to happen rather than forcing.
✨ Listen deeply. Every body is always speaking with their energy, feel what you feel through their breath, their face or the way they their fingertips curl.
✨ Don’t judge. Just move from compassion, and let go of any expectations (always easier said than done), because the space doesn’t need that extra pressure.
✨ Keep your heart open. Connection is felt more through presence than just techniques. When you’re in a relationship, you’re both usually very attuned to each other, so being connected to your heart will help them connect to theirs.

These are just some of the foundations of how I teach and share touch. Whether it’s a private couples class, a mentorship, or a workshop. It’s not about perfect hands, but actually anchoring in some deep principles of conscious connection through the expression of our body.

It’s about creating safety, connection, and space for someone to feel more like themselves.

Because when touch lands with this kind of presence, it becomes medicine for everyone’s soul.

We’ve all been there…
“What have I done to my back?”

But the real question is: what haven’t you done for your back?

Your back isn’t broken. It’s most likely overworked and deconditioned in certain areas. It’s holding your tension, your habits, and let’s be honest, probably a whole lot of emotions that haven’t been expressed too.

What it needs isn’t just a quick fix. It needs movement, decompression, activation, and strength.

It needs acknowledgement for what it’s gone through and a commitment to do better.

Yes this calls for you to build a healthy relationship to your body.

I’ll never lie and say a bodywork session with me is a magic solution. It won’t fix everything especially if you don’t honour the basics your body needs.

But… it will give you release, reset your nervous system, and create the space & foundation you need to move with more freedom.

So if you’re ready to start treating your body right and want support on where to begin, this is where bodywork comes in.

People often ask me how I do this work day in and day out without burning out. Because let’s face it, giving a couple of 90min or 2hr bodywork sessions a day is not for everyone. Giving physically, emotionally, and energetically takes a toll on the most experienced bodyworkers if we aren’t committed to ourselves.

Here’s the truth: if I didn’t honour my own energy, I would totally drop dead from this work. Bodywork isn’t just massage; it’s holding space with your whole being. And that means knowing how to keep yourself clear, grounded, and nourished too.

Now that I’m a mother there’s an added layer of honouring my body because I’m still breastfeeding which takes up more energy than before, which makes even more reason to look after myself these days.

For me, the secrets are simple but non-negotiable:
🌿 Daily practices that bring me back to my body (dance, ocean dips, the right exercise , meditation)
✨ Clearing rituals for my space and energy before and after clients
💆‍♀️ Receiving bodywork myself because I can only hold others as deeply as I hold myself
💛 Boundaries that protect my energy and allow me to show up fully present

If you’ve ever wondered what keeps a bodyworker alive, inspired, and not depleted it’s the continuous search and commitment to this balance. Giving and receiving. Flowing and resting. Emptying out so I can keep filling up.

Because the real secret is that no one can fully serve from an empty cup.

Sure we can work with your tissue, tension and posture, but what really matters is the the space that you can drop into.

Yes that means the outcomes of the session aren’t just based on you being treated, but rather it depends on the dance of your nervous system interacting with the quality of touch.

Alot of my clients absolutely love the array of techniques I bring to the table, however the real reason that most people come in for a bodywork session with me as opposed to going to the physio( because I can do that kind of massage if you like), is that they also want a space where they can meet themselves with exactly where they’re at.

Because who doesn’t in this day and age!?

Sometimes a moment of complete drop in looks like:
💪A deep release of tension
🧘‍♀️Clarity in the mind
😴 A little snooze
😭An emotional release
💫 A sense of being supported and aligned on your path

Sometimes all of those in one🔥🔥🔥

The body always knows what it needs, and my job is simply to listen with my hands, apply the right pressure and hold the space for the intelligence of your body to come through.✨

Massage is where I began. It’s skilled, intentional, and works directly with the muscles and soft tissues to release tension, restore balance, and bring relief. It’s a beautiful practice rooted in anatomy and structure of our physical body.

Bodywork, however, is something broader. It doesn’t always rely on physical touch alone. It speaks to the whole of who we are , the physical, emotional, mental, energetic, and spiritual bodies that make us. For me, bodywork is about working with the relationships between these layers of self, and bringing awareness to the imprints and patterns that long to be seen.

This is where touch, presence, movement, breath, and intention weave together, creating transformation that goes far deeper than just muscles.

The shift from calling myself a massage therapist to a bodyworker came when I realised my sessions were never just about the physical. Because the body always tells a bigger story.

Our breath, our posture, our nervous system, even the way we move through the world, all of these hold the echoes of our lived experience. By meeting these places with intentional touch and presence, we can unravel deep patterns, release what’s been stored, and make space for new energy and new ways of being.

That’s why I now call myself a bodyworker. It speaks to the wholeness I bring into my sessions and my teaching.

And of course, this is my humble perspective shaped by years of practice and reflection. Others may define it differently, and that’s the beauty of this work. There is space for all of us. 💛🙌✨
