A gentle reminder to be kind to veterinary professionals.

Most people see the cute puppies, the cuddles, and the “dream job” side of vet work. What they don’t see is the emotional weight that comes with it — the tough conversations, the financial limitations, the outcomes we wish we could change, and the constant pressure of caring deeply while trying to stay strong.

Veterinary professionals carry grief, stress, and responsibility every single day. They advocate for animals who can’t speak, support owners through heartbreaking decisions, and often go home replaying cases in their heads wondering what more they could have done.

Words matter. Harsh comments, blame, or unrealistic expectations can linger long after the conversation ends.

Behind every uniform is a human being doing their best in a challenging, emotionally demanding profession. If you’re feeling frustrated, please remember — we’re on the same team, and we care just as much as you do.

Being kind costs nothing, but it can mean everything to someone who’s quietly struggling. 💚

Proof that the powers at be will put you exactly where you are meant to be at exactly the right time.

The clinic was closed, it was late on a Sunday afternoon and I just happened to be dropping a car off to work. I would never normally be there. But on this day I’m so glad I was 🩷 Mishka (just shy of her 14th birthday) left us that day surrounded by love and completely at peace in her mums arms. RIP beautiful girl. Christine, we are so sorry for your loss 💔 Sending love and hugs to you and your family from the team at GVH xx

🐾💔 Today, we said goodbye to a beloved friend Hondo. As veterinarians, we understand the profound bond shared between pets and their humans.
