Sometimes, independence begins with being listened to 🐾
Meet Milo — not just any dog, but a companion who has become part of daily life at our Reservoir home.
It all started with a simple wish from the ladies during their house meeting: “We’d love a dog!” Not because it was planned, but because it felt right for their home, their wellbeing, and their sense of companionship.
From there, the decision was led by the people who live there. Together with families and our team, options were explored carefully — trial visits with dogs, shelter visits, and thoughtful choices about what would truly suit the household.
Then one Saturday, Milo arrived.
More than a pet, Milo quickly became part of daily life — a calm presence during anxious moments, a loyal protector of the house, and a source of laughter that supports emotional wellbeing and belonging — all shaped by a choice the women made together.
This is what supported decision-making looks like: not deciding for people, but walking alongside them as they shape their own lives and homes.
Because independent living isn’t just about where you live.
It’s about having the freedom to make choices that feel like home.🐶
