Mothers juggle a thousand invisible things—and carry the guilt of dropping any.

🧺 Work. Groceries. Homework. Family birthdays. Appointments. Laundry.

Mums are the event planners 🗓️, the emotional managers 💬, the schedulers 📋, the chefs 🍲, and the crisis calmers 🧯—all rolled into one.

And through all that… there’s a deep sense of guilt:

“So what are you having for breakfast?”

It’s something I get asked a lot—and here’s one of my go-to favourites:

Soft scrambled eggs, sautéed shiitake mushrooms with a light sprinkle of cayenne pepper, and this morning I was lucky enough to add a few slices of my favourite smoked salmon.

If I start the day with this, I’m full, focused, and satisfied right through to the late afternoon—just in time to think about dinner.

Here’s why this combo works so well:

🍳 Eggs – Packed with high-quality protein and choline, great for brain function and hormone health.
🍄 Shiitake mushrooms – A rich source of B vitamins and immune-supporting compounds like beta-glucans.
