🔍 Exploring Knee Osteoarthritis: Understanding & Relief 🌟💡

Knee osteoarthritis — it's a complex, but unfortunately common condition affecting the knee joint's cartilage and underlying bone.

The knee joint's anatomy is intricate, with cartilage cushioning the bones, allowing smooth movement. Osteoarthritis develops when this cartilage deteriorates, leading to stiffness, pain, and reduced mobility.

Causes vary, from age-related wear and tear to injuries or genetic factors. But fret not! The dedicated physiotherapists at Next Generation Physiotherapy are here to assist.

Treatment options tailored by our experts might include:

🏃🏿♂️ Exercise Programs: Targeted exercises to strengthen muscles around the knee, enhancing joint stability and reducing pain.

🩹 Manual Therapy: Hands-on techniques aimed at improving joint mobility and reducing stiffness.

🧘🏻‍♂️ Lifestyle Modifications: Guidance on lifestyle changes and assistive devices to reduce strain on the knee joint.

Our physiotherapists are equipped with personalised plans to alleviate knee osteoarthritis discomfort, aiming for improved function and better quality of life.

Call us on 9203 7771 to schedule an appointment. Let's embark on a journey towards better knee health together!

🩸 Yep - the average adult carries five litres of blood in their body. Of course, this varies depending on an individual's size and body composition. Larger people tend to have more blood than smaller people. Meanwhile individuals with higher muscle mass often have a slightly higher blood volume compared to those with lower muscle mass. 💪 Muscles have a higher blood perfusion rate, necessitating a slightly increased blood volume to meet the metabolic demands of the muscle tissue. And dehydration has a negative effect on your blood supply since blood is mostly water after all.

Our incredible blood serves multiple roles, transporting essential nutrients, oxygen, hormones, and waste products throughout the body. It regulates body temperature, fights infections through white blood cells, and aids in clotting to prevent excessive bleeding.

Blood is composed of various elements: red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Each component plays a crucial role in maintaining our health and well-being.

Despite its significance, our bodies can sustainably lose some blood without major complications. Generally, healthy adults can lose up to 10-15% of their blood volume before experiencing severe effects. However, rapid and significant blood loss requires immediate medical attention.
