A standard Australian diet creates twice as much acid, then the body can excrete.

Your body is so wise though! When it has too much acid, it will draw minerals from your muscles and bones to buffer the acid and get rid of it 🀯

Short term = normal!

Long term = muscle and bone wasting.

High acid does many things but the main things I see impacting my clients is;

πŸ«› Low stomach acid (hello reflux, indigestion and poor nutrient absorbtion)
πŸ«› Joint pain, muscle tension, arthritis and osteoporosis.

But as always, nature provided us the answer to this puzzle piece.

PLANTS 🍌πŸ₯‘πŸ₯¦πŸ₯¬πŸ«›πŸ₯πŸ‰ And alot of them!

A diet high in plants will dramatically reduce your acid build up in the body.

If you can relate to this. Increase your plants. Just one extra serve of vegetables a day can start stearing this ship in the right direction πŸ‘Œ

Ill be running a Gut workshop this Saturday at The Wellness Road and dive deep in to this.

Thanking weekend me for a bit of meal prep πŸ™Œ

With some planning and practice, breakfast and lunch has got me...

80 grams of protein people!!!! 😱 and 50% of my fibre goals. Ill add a peice of fruit after each meal to bump fibre up.

A zuchini and sundried tomato slice and a Mexican chicken quinoa bowly thingo.

When I am fueled well from breaky and lunch, my mood, energy, sleep and dopamine loving food noise is wayyyyy better.

Sometimes planning my meals feels alot. Most the time it feels like essential self care because of the huge gains I have in my daily life when im not a hangry bi**ch.

If you want to plan out how to fuel yourself well, for your goals, shoot me a DM below and we can organise a planning session 😘

🎀 This pear would like to remind you all how good pears are for constipation and haemorrhoids πŸ˜…

I feel like she grew knowing this was her purpose. Perfectly shaped like a painful roid poking out of a butt after years of straining and childbirth.

And yes... this is how my brain sees the world πŸ‘€

I have gotten many women off laxatives by incorporating 1/2 cup of pear juice with dinner. I personally recommend bickfords pear juice from woolies because yall know im about simplicity, sustainability, affordability and accessibility 😘

Pear helps soften the stool without damaging the colon thanks to its sorbitol content. A laxative with out the side effects of long term use πŸ‘Œ

95% of my fussier kiddie clients like it too πŸ™Œ

If constipation and haemorrhoids are driving you nuts, holla so we can sort it out chick. You dont need to feel the same as this pear your whole life x

Something I find super powerful with many clients is an Ancestral diet.

An not the Pete Evans kinda paleo diet... YOUR Ancestral diet.

What did YOUR ancestors eat?

How did they live?

Where they swimming the seas for fish or growing fields of rice?

Your clues in to how to nourish your body with food and which movements to choose, lie in your history.

Not the latest trends.

If your ancestors largely lived on the same lands for many generations, your genes have adapted to there. Chuck us in 2026 in Australia and our diet and lifestyle is VASTLY different! And we are suffering. We havnt yet adapted.

So merge your worlds. Turn to your history for guidance. Ask your elders. And find pockets to revive your past a little 😘

Nature didn't give us mega doses of single nutrients and herbs forever.

We would of had seasons of abundance and seasons of famine.

I remember a chapter in the book Dark Emu many years ago whilst travelling across the Nullabor. Describing the bogon moth season. Were indigenous communities would gather annually to feast on moths. They would leave skinny and gaunt and come back glowing and curvy. The moths high in fats, supporting thier health until the next season πŸ₯°

I think about that often when I support you. I work to restore our connection to the earth that kept us alive for hundreds of thousands of years. Not the supplement industry that has been around for 30.

Food was our life force. Herbs our medicine. Sun our power. Connection our safety.

Seasons of abundance.

Seasons of famine.

All deeply connected in ritual, community and connection to earth πŸ₯°

Gut healing is just about bombing bacteria and taking probiotics. A healthy gut manages infections and good bacteria, naturally.

My approach isnt always to kill, supress and interject the natural process of the gut.

My approach is to RESTORE how the gut is designed to FUNCTION and the way to do that is actually pretty simples!

Did you know your gut has its own natural built in defence system.

Inside your small intestine are tiny cells called Paneth cells, and one of their jobs is to release natural antimicrobial compounds that help protect you from;

- parasites
- harmful bacteria
- infections
- worms
- candida

They also help repair the gut lining, which is why they can be so important when healing leaky gut and calming inflammation and supporting your immune system.

The cool this is we can support their development with foods like;

- garlic
- onions
- leeks
- ginger
- turmeric
- berries
- pomegranate
- oats
- legumes
- flaxseeds
- leafy greens
- cooked and cooled potatoes

These foods help feed the good bacteria in the gut, which then helps strengthen the Paneth cell and your natural defences.

BUT theres things that can weaken them too;
- too much sugar
- processed foods
- alcohol
- chronic stress
- low fibre diets
- long term restriction (hello Keto, fasting and carnivore 🫣)
- antibiotics

Gut healing is complex. But it starts by simply giving your body the right tools to do what it was designed to do 😘

You can start today by simply adding an extra fruit and veg to your diet πŸ₯³

When I was younger, my checklist for getting ready for a party was something like this...

Outfit with owl necklace, racer back & waist belt βœ…οΈ
Enough cash for some Smirnoff double blacks βœ…οΈ
Fake tan βœ…οΈ
A hook up just incase (sorry Mum 🀣)

Now its the week before Camden Wellness Expo and my nearly 40 year old checklist is...

Lymphatic & nervous system
herbs βœ…οΈ
Magnesium for some solid sleep so my brain works βœ…οΈ
All the wholefoods to support my body and fuel me βœ…οΈ
Energy management so I get to Expo less of a hot mess then I usually
am 🀣 βœ…οΈ

Evolution is funny right 🀣 and so we're the early 2000s!

I didn't arrive at a space where I valued my health. The wounded healer shall we say was propelled here. And I fricking adore it.

Come and feel inspired on Sunday at 10am at Camden Civic Centre.

Ill be speaking on Finding your Tribe, the importance of Community and running a Gut Health workshop πŸ™Œ

Its a day if Wellness with a community of practitioners who truly care (and get it!)

Cant wait!

Salute! (*Shots adrenal herbs)

We used to get our advise and wisdom from our elders. How shared the shame genes, ate the same food, knew what herbs grew locally and shared wisdom from generations of our ancestors. Intrinsically knowing what worked for our bodies in our environments.

Now, we have moved away from our genetic origins, the landscapes our genes adjusted to... and follow on average 1000 people on social media all sharing their tips!

And we sit and judge our selves, in our homes, for feeling confused on where to begin... so we often dont take the first step.

Theres nothing wrong if you feel unsure on where to begin babe.

But if you want to figure out wtaf to eat for YOU... lets chat!
