What does orienting to a space look like ⬇️ like this.
Taking our time to scan our new space. Noticing our environment, really tapping in to our senses.

Noticing what feels nice in our body when we look at it, noticing the spots we feel stuck.

Orienting gives us a sense of safety, especially when our nervous system is feeling stressed.

Next time you notice you’re feeling out of sorts, try orienting to your space and see what you notice. Take your time, I usually take up to 5 minutes 🙂

🌟Announcement🌟

The last couple days have been busy!
Phoenix Rise Equine Therapies has moved from Wandin North to Wonga Park.

We are now running sessions out of Homestead Farm Agistment in Wonga Park!

The horses are tired (as am I) from such a move but they are very happy in their new home!

We have some AWESOME spots to sit and soak in the environment and be with the horses and I can’t wait to share that with you!

I apologise if this means some of you can longer visit and engage in equine assisted counselling sessions, however I do offer online counselling sessions.

Gemma is being leased by her previous owner which means Logan and Wade will continue being their awesome selves and spending time with all of you!

We have been through so much together, we saved each other in more ways than one. You have been apart of the family since you were born, and a part of my life for the last 7 years of yours. You taught me how to be a better person. You taught me how to heal from my trauma, you saved my life so many times. Through the ups and downs, through the break ups and the heaviness of life, through my journey of parenting as you shared your own wisdom. You kept me grounded, you kept me sane. You gave me a space to be me, to tell you anything and everything. You held space so well for those who came into your life. Your love for kids was infectious, your curiosity about life, your protection, your wisdom. You were absolutely an old soul. You made me believe in myself and pushed me out of my comfort zone. You demanded my presence and taught me to never give up. You are one in a million and your memory will live on forever. I love you so much my girl, my heart, my soul ❤️ you are the reason Phoenix Rise was born and I hold it so close to my heart. Because together, we rose like a phoenix from the ashes, we now thrive ❤️

We integrate all different kinds of modalities that work best for the person engaging in counselling and with in our scope of practice, I also incorporate resource therapy as part of our sessions, if the person has a part that shows up and needs to be heard. Every person has different needs, so we honour that, as they are - wholly ❤️

🐴What Type of Therapy Is Equine Assisted Therapy?🐴

Equine-assisted therapy is not a single type of therapy but an integrated approach that may include:

Psychotherapy (Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy) – Incorporates principles and practices from different theories and models which may include but is not limited to: trauma-informed care, Gestalt therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy (SFT), Narrative therapy and somatic experiencing.

Counselling (Equine-Assisted Counselling) – Works with the horse-human interaction to explore emotions, relationships, emotional regulation and self-perception.
