Our Skin In Spring:

As the season’s change, so should the way we look after our skin.
As there will start to be more sunshine coming in Spring, it’s a good opportunity to top up on your Vitamin D.
Vitamin D is uplifting and nourishing for our physical and mental wellbeing.
Vitamin D also helps give us better energy .
Keep focused on how long you spend in the sun and protect your skin with a Broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher.
Make sure it’s applied regularly and even on cloudy days.
(Helps to prevent premature aging & skin cancer and promote healthy looking skin)
Spring might be a good time to have a skin check to make sure you have no concerning moles or skin tags.
Exfoliating dead, dry skin built up from Winter will help to replenish skin & help your skin to glow.
Switching to light weight cleansers and moisturisers will keep your skin nourished and breathe better :as the weather warms up.
Skin serums( high in antioxidants & vitamin C
can help your skin recover from the Winter dryness.
Regular exercise helps to increase blood flow, delivering more oxygen and nutrients to the skin.
This can help to protect your skin from free radicals (unstable molecules that can damage cells) & clear congested skin.
Keep your hydration in check - drinking plenty of water throughout the day helps to -
:maintain elasticity - making skin plump & looking more youthful.
:helps to flush out toxins, improving the skins complexion.
:strengthens the skins barrier, reducing dryness.
A Healthy diet that is rich in vitamins, minerals & antioxidants are important for maintaining healthy skin too & the optimum functioning of our whole body.
✨The skin is our largest human organ , it is highly adaptive & has specialised functions
:So we need to look after it ✨

Massage Can Help With Inflammation:

Massage therapy can help reduce inflammation, it works by stimulating the lymphatic system.
The lymphatic system is drained from excess fluid and waste products, which helps to reduce swelling and promote healing.
- Massage can help to lower levels of cytokines ( small proteins important for cell signalling, they help to control growth of other cells, that help the body’s immune and inflammation responses.) This can reduce pain and inflammation
- When we have an injury, Massage can stimulate the lymphatic system by removing excess fluid and waste from injured tissues. This helps to reduce inflammation & swelling.
- Chronic inflammation can be persistent and a long term condition. Massage therapy has long been known for its relaxation benefits, although it is now believed to help manage chronic inflammation. Massage therapy can stimulate the production of mitochondria ( powerhouses of the cell, producing energy necessary for cell functions & survival). This stimulation aids in reducing inflammation at the cellular level.
- The increased blood flow during a Massage helps to deliver more oxygen and nutrients to muscles, which can help reduce inflammation.

Maintaining a positive focus, committing to look after you 🤍
Looking after your mental, emotional , physical and spiritual self is important :

Addressing aspects of your well- being and taking action when needed helps to make sure you are looking after You.
- Maintaining a level of energy and positiveness is important.
- Balancing everyday life helps you to keep in good shape, so you can function well at work and play.
- When setting well-being goals, make sure they are realistic, suit your needs and have meaning just for you.

- Stop for a while and be in the now, ensure your awareness is completely cantered.

Mind-fullness
Mindfulness helps to reduce stress & anxiety.
It helps to relax the body and mind & encourages you to sense and feel in the present moment - free from distraction.

Incorporating exercise, like walking with mind-fullness, enhances greater benefits for your physical & mental health.
When walking outside , you become present of your surroundings and how your body is feeling.
Mindful walking helps enhance your mood as you discover new sights, sounds, smells and the feeling of the air touching your skin.
When we walk outside in nature, our eyes can open to different perspectives than when we are inside.
It increases your blood flow which helps to create a happy, healthy cardiovascular and muscular system.
Your immune system will benefit & sleep can improve.
Tips for mindful walking:
- Notice how you feel when you are walking & check in with your senses.
- As you notice your feet on the ground & the movement of your muscles over different surfaces, bring mindfulness to your body.
- Check in to see if your body feels balanced- is one side stronger than the other.
- You might find practising mindful walking on your lunch break helps to ease a stressful work day.
- Try walking without being connected to your phone.
- Notice all 5 senses, as you walk.
- While walking, practice slow pace breathing.
(4-7-8 breathing- breathe in for four steps, hold for seven steps, breathe out for 8 steps & repeat)

*️⃣ With each practice of Mindful Walking- your mindfulness muscle may become stronger . *️⃣
