If you’re booking your first appointment, please remember to bring a copy of your current medications and your medical summary. This helps our doctors plan your care appropriately and ensures we have all the important information to support your health.

Please also note that standard appointments are 15 minutes, which allows the doctor to safely address 1–2 main issues. Longer appointments are available—please ask our reception staff for details when booking.

🌿 Casual Receptionist – Gulgong Medical Centre

Hours: Between 8:30 am and 6:00 pm (casual, flexible shifts)

Gulgong Medical Centre is seeking a friendly, motivated Casual Receptionist to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a community-focused healthcare environment and has strong computer skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Welcoming patients and managing front desk enquiries
Scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate patient records
Processing payments and Medicare claims
Assisting doctors and nurses with administrative support
Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times

About You:

Excellent computer literacy and confidence learning new systems
Strong communication and organisational skills
Friendly, professional, and reliable attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Prior knowledge of Best Practice software is desirable but not essential — training will be provided

Please note that Gulgong Medical Centre will be open from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM on the following days:

While Dr Adamski takes some well-earned leave after a solid three months serving the Gulgong community, these temporary hours will allow our team to prepare for an exciting milestone — the arrival of Dr Luke Talbot, who will be joining Gulgong Medical Centre from 10 November 2025! 🎉

⚠️ Important Update: Non-Attendance Fee from November 1⚠️

At Gulgong Medical Centre, we’re proud to continue offering bulk-billed consultations to our community — ensuring everyone has access to quality healthcare when they need it most.

Unfortunately, we’ve seen an increase in missed appointments without notice. Each missed appointment means another patient misses out on timely care.

From November 1, a $55 non-attendance fee will apply if an appointment is missed or cancelled without reasonable notice.

We understand that emergencies happen — if you can’t make your appointment, please call us as soon as possible so we can offer the time to someone else in need.

We’re beyond excited to announce that Dr Luke Talbot will be joining the team at Gulgong Medical Centre this November!

Dr Talbot is an experienced General Practitioner with a strong background in both general practice and emergency medicine. After graduating from the University of Liverpool in 2010, he moved to Australia in 2012, where he discovered his passion for rural and remote medicine.

He’s dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centred care across all stages of life, with particular interests in preventative health, chronic disease management, and emergency medicine.

We’re thrilled to welcome Dr Talbot to our community and can’t wait for our patients to meet him!
