Before and after 3 weeks after Breast augmentation surgery. Results vary from person to person. These images are indicative only and reflect the early results for this patient. Swelling and healing are ongoing at this stage.

Breast augmentation carries general surgical risks and risks specific to the procedure, this information doesn’t replace a consultation with a qualified surgeon. Risks may include
* Infection
* Bleeding or haematoma
* Adverse reaction to anaesthesia
* Delayed wound healing
* Changes in ni**le or breast sensation (which may be temporary or permanent)
* Capsular contracture (firmness or hardening around the implant)
* Implant rupture or leakage
* Implant displacement or asymmetry
* Scarring, which may be more prominent in some individuals

Recovery experiences can vary significantly between individuals. Your surgeon will provide personalised instructions tailored to your procedure and health status. Below is general information for your recovery guidance.
* Breast augmentation is typically performed as day surgery or with an overnight hospital stay, depending on your individual needs.
* Recovery times can vary. Most patients return to normal daily activities within 1 to 2 weeks, but strenuous activity and heavy lifting should be avoided for 4 to 6 weeks.
* Wearing a post-operative surgical bra or compression garment may be recommended to support healing.
* Swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort are expected in the early recovery period and should gradually improve.

• Visible scarring, depending on incision placement
• Nerve injury leading to temporary or, rarely, permanent changes in sensation or movement

• Mild–moderate discomfort managed with prescribed or over-the-counter pain relief
• Dressings or a compression bandage may be applied to support healing
• Keeping the head elevated, including while sleeping, helps reduce swelling
• Cold packs may be used cautiously early on (as advised)
• Avoid strenuous activity, bending, lifting, and exercise for at least 3–4 weeks
• Driving should resume only when neck movement is comfortable and you are off strong pain medication
• Follow all incision care and scar management instructions
