Negative self-talk is something we all experience. We each have an inner critic that believes in ‘tough love’ but its harshness can take a toll, leading to low self-esteem, doubt, and even self-hatred. Instead, try nurturing a kinder, fairer inner voice, one that lifts you up without tearing you down ✨

One thing we notice a lot with our clients during winter is that hydration often drops off. It’s easy to forget we still need to drink plenty of water when it’s cold, especially when we’re not sweating as much and those thirst signals get a bit quieter. 💦

But staying hydrated is still important, even in the cooler months. It helps with:
✔️ Energy and focus
✔️ Reducing brain fog and cravings
✔️ Supporting digestion and regularity
✔️ Keeping skin and joints feeling their best

If you find yourself sipping less, try warming up your water with a slice of lemon or a splash of herbal tea. Small changes like that can make a big difference in how you feel day to day. Keep your eyes peeled for our upcoming infused water recipes you can make with cold or warm water. How do you keep hydrated in winter? We would love to hear your tips!

BEEF & VEGGIE STIR-FRY
Quick, colourful and packed with flavour, this stir-fry is your new weeknight go to! Stirfries are great way to use up any vegetables leftover in the fridge 🥦 🍄‍🟫 🫑

🕐 30 minutes

Ingredients:
200g lean beef strips
4 broccolini stems, chopped
¼ red capsicum, thinly sliced
1 bok choy head, chopped
1 large mushroom, sliced
¼ onion, thinly sliced
1 garlic clove, minced
½ tsp ground ginger
2 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
3 tbsp soy sauce
½ cup uncooked rice (yields ~1½ cups cooked)

Method:
1. Cook the rice: Rinse rice and add to saucepan with 1 cup water. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 12–15 minutes. Let sit covered for 5 minutes.
2. Cook the beef: Heat 1 tsp sesame oil in a pan. Sear beef strips for 2–3 minutes until browned. Set aside.
3. Sauté vegetables: In the same pan, heat 1 tsp sesame oil. Add onion, garlic, and ginger for 1 minute. Add broccolini and capsicum, cook 2–3 minutes. Add bok choy and stir until wilted.
4. Combine: Return beef to the pan. Add sweet chilli sauce, oyster sauce, and soy sauce. Stir-fry for 1–2 minutes until heated through and well coated.
5. Serve: Spoon rice into bowls and top with the beef and veggie mix.

A fast, nourishing dinner that’s full of flavour and crunch. Save this recipe for your next busy night.

Your mind is always thinking, it’s how it tries to understand the world. But not every thought is helpful. Instead of reacting, pause, notice the thought, create space, let it pass, and gently ask: is this thought helpful? ✨

Mindful eating helps you tune in to what your body needs, improves digestion, and helps prevent overeating. It’s not just about enjoying the food – it’s about being present in the moment and being intentional with every bite. Here are a few simple tips to get you started:

🧠 Remove distractions - put your phone down, close the laptop and turn the TV off! When we are distracted our focus shifts away from the food we are eating.
🧠 Tune into your hunger and fullness cues - this helps us eat according to what our body actually needs rather than external factors like emotions, distractions and portion sizes.
🧠 Always sit at the table to eat - this helps us to be fully present and minimise distractions. It also creates an intentional eating environment that supports mindful eating.
Engage your senses – pay attention to the taste, smell and texture.
🧠 Don’t rush – when you take the time to enjoy and taste your food, you are more likely to feel satisfied and avoid overeating. Try putting your fork down between bites or taking sips of water throughout the meal.
🧠 Take small bites and chew thoroughly – while appreciating the flavours, textures and how the food makes you feel. Again, slowing down during meals can help us to recognise fullness cues, improve digestion and satisfaction.

Mindful eating creates a deeper awareness of what our body actually needs, and encourages a healthier more balanced relationship with food. ✨
