Quite often we get asked to advocate for participants.
Unfortunately it’s not something within a providers scope.
What we can do is support you with is:
Preparing for plan reassessments, organising reports to request supports you need funded and support during with plan reassessments.
Helping you understand your plan and the various mental health services available.
Finding suitable providers and connecting you with mainstream services.
Staying up to date with your budget and ensuring invoices are correct.
Working alongside your mental health team, collaborating with your family and informall supports.
Supporting you to break through barriers and build new opportunites.
Create recovery action plans using your strengths to achieve your goals, build your independence, resilience and community connections.
Spend time with you, learn more about you and those important to you.
AND
Connecting you with an advocate when your NDIS, support, housing and disability needs are not being met.
Your NDIS provider can support you in many ways, but they can’t be your advocate.
That’s because under the NDIS Act, advocacy must be fully independent, with no real or perceived conflicts of interest.
