Heatwave Survival Guide!
Heatwaves have caused more deaths in Australia than any other natural disaster.
REMEMBER THESE POINTS:
* HOT CARS KILLS - Never leave kids, pets or anyone in a parked car. Temperatures can soar dangerously fast
* COOL DOWN - Take cool showers, use wet cloths or head to an air conditioned space to stay cool
* STAY HYDRATED - Drink plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty, take a water bottle with you
* CHECK ON OTHERS - Look out for the vulnerable people, like the elderly, young kids, or those with health conditions. A quick check in could save a life.
* PLAN AHEAD - Prepare for heatwaves by checking the weather, stocking up on water, and ensuring home is ready to stay cool
* SEEK SHADE - Limit outdoor activities to cooler parts of the day. Use sunscreen, wear a hat, and stay in the shade when possible.
