“I joined RBM Recovery in the 2nd half of 2025, at this point It was a group setting where multiple clients would share a space to unwind and recover from workouts, the stress of work and all of life’s general wear and tear it tends to take on us. Now however, the facility has just undergone a substantial upgrade.

Still nestled in the upstairs confines of The Real Body Movement, RBM recovery has become a secluded experience for anyone looking to relax and restore their body. They still offer compression boots, a fantastic infared sauna and ice bath but the best part now is you take part in recovery how you like, you as the client can set how you would like to choose to restore your body on any given day! You can even control the sound system to unwind to you favourite music if you so wish.

The facility while being more self serve orientated now is always kept hygienic and cleaned to the highest standard and if you are new to this form of restoration you need not worry, the team at RBM recovery are still on hand to guide you through any part of the process that you would like assistance with and they do so in the most professional manner possible.

One of the most cited studies on sauna use and Alzheimer’s disease is the Kuopio Ischaemic Heart Disease prospective cohort study conducted by the University of Eastern Finland.

This research followed 2,315 middle-aged Finnish men (ages 42–60) for an average of about 20 years and found that men who used a sauna 4–7 times per week had a 65 percent lower risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease compared with those who used a sauna only once per week, even after adjusting for factors such as age, smoking, blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, physical activity, and alcohol use.

The researchers concluded that frequent sauna bathing was strongly associated with reduced dementia risk, likely through improvements in cardiovascular health, reduced inflammation, and enhanced brain blood flow, while emphasizing that the findings show a long-term association rather than direct proof of prevention.
