Top tips post fracture and especially after needing surgery : ( things the drs dont tell you)
- scar management is super important, we started scar massage as soon as the wounds healed
- “ active movement will come back so quick in children” : keep a watchful eye because kids are also super good at compensating with other muscles and joints , causing abnormal movement patterns , please see an OT or Physio for advice
- get full range of movement back before thinking of doing strength exercises

Also , my son has now had 5 fractures and he only 8yrs old. After much questioning of specialists I have now concluded that his hypermobility does increase the risk. Hope this helps someone ♥️

Cutting skills: Fun activity for pre- cutting skills . Cut play dough. Cutting play dough snakes then cutting on lines made by n play dough cutter.

This collaboration brings me much joy

A few weeks ago, we hosted a visit from the wonderful Carmen. Some families may remember Carmen from her time living and working in Tumut as an Occupational Therapist. Carmen has worked with Snowy Valleys School over a number of years, supporting students, families and staff with her incredible expertise.

During Carmen’s visit, she worked collaboratively with teachers to develop and update individual student sensory profiles, class programs for our sensory room and deliver professional learning to all staff focusing on sensory processing and regulation.

Our school community truly appreciates and would like to acknowledge your ongoing connection and wealth of knowledge.

Happy Monday ! This weekend was hard. Lots of dysregulation and big feelings. Sometimes we feel like we take 3 steps back …but they are growing , they are blooming. So are you as their parent.
