Hiatus Psychology has been working closely with Naomi from Restoring Your Story. She has immediate availability and an affordable mental health support option!

Here at ‘Restoring Your Story’, I believe that your story matters — because YOU matter.

I also recognise that sometimes, life throws us challenges that leave parts of our story feeling broken. It may be things we believe about ourselves, things others have said or done that hurt us, or events outside our control that affect us.

As your counsellor, I will use listening skills, empathy, compassion, and curiosity to help you explore your story.

As we journey together, my hope is that you are able to move towards healing and wholeness by Restoring Your Story!

Currently available for new appointments, please head to my website for more information.

Anxiety tends to be uncomfortable whether it’s a natural and proportional response or a mental health condition. But regardless of which form of anxiety you’re experiencing, you can find an approach to help you address it.

You might be thinking, “I feel anxious — does that mean I have a mental health condition?”

The answer is “It depends.” Anxiety disorders aren’t uncommon, but it’s also important to remember that anxiety is a natural and universal human response. https://bit.ly/42uTjwQ

Let's talk about trauma responses.

People with complex trauma can respond to triggers by moving between being hyper and hypo-aroused at different times. Being agitated (hyper-arousal) and shutting down (hypo-arousal) are commonly experienced responses to trauma. This means that a survivor of complex trauma who is hypo-aroused may be just as overwhelmed as a person who is hyper-aroused. Read more about trauma responses here: https://bit.ly/46lilNH
