A Reflection on 2025
2025 was a year filled with memories, some incredibly beautiful, others challenging, but all of them meaningful.
The year began packed with excitement, starting with a trip to Sydney to see Benson Boone, followed closely by Brisbane to watch Luke Combs in concert in the sweltering heat. Hot, exhausting… but hey, that’s what makes the memories, right? I also enrolled in further training to continue upskilling, always striving to grow both personally and professionally.
We welcomed a new addition to our family, a gorgeous golden fur baby with so much sass, attitude, and personality. She has completely stolen our hearts. Our third eldest daughter also got engaged to the love of her life, and we couldn’t be happier for them both. We’re so excited to see what life has in store for their journey together.
Just before our overseas trip, our eldest daughter, her husband, and our two beautiful granddaughters moved to Chinchilla for work. This was a very emotional time for me, as I had my daughter and granddaughters so close, and my eldest daughter also worked alongside me as our incredible administrative guru. While it was heartbreaking to have them move away, I am also so incredibly proud of them for taking this step to secure a trade and build their future. I took a trip out to Chinchilla, a place I had never been before and I was genuinely amazed. It’s a lovely town, and the community where my daughter now lives are such beautiful, welcoming people. Even though I miss them like crazy, my heart is full knowing they are happy and supported.
Mid-year, we were lucky enough to go overseas on a family holiday. It was absolutely beautiful and filled with special moments, including celebrating two of our daughters’ birthdays while we were away, memories we’ll treasure forever.
From a business perspective, Blissful Lotus Massage & Beauty Therapy was nominated for New Business of the Year with Gympie Women in Business. This was incredibly humbling. I couldn’t believe the amount of beautiful nominations for my little business, and I was beyond grateful to know that I was truly making a difference.
We then expanded and launched Blissful Lotus Professional Cleaning Services alongside the beauty and massage business, - nuts, right? Haha. But it has taken off beautifully. Seeing how much easier life becomes for my clients when they have a clean, comfortable home has been so rewarding. My goal has always been to help people, whether that’s feeling their best in their skin, supporting physical wellbeing, or creating a home environment where they can focus on themselves and what matters most.
2025 also brought moments of fear and loss. My mother gave us a huge scare after suffering a major heart attack and requiring surgery. I will forever be grateful to the incredible cardiology team at SCUH, they were amazing, and thankfully Mum is now doing well. Sadly, in November, we had to say goodbye to my beautiful mother-in-law. It was an incredibly hard time for our family, and we are so thankful for the love and support shown by our friends and community.
Toward the end of the year, we moved premises from Hair Review to The Gympie Wellness Clinic, an exciting new chapter for Blissful Lotus. Christmas was small and intimate, spent with our little family and our two gorgeous granddaughters, and New Year’s Eve was also very quiet and reflective.
As we step into 2026, we’re excited to see where this next chapter takes us. There is a lot happening this year, so please watch this space.
