I’m seeing more massage therapists working with swelling, post-surgical changes and “tricky” presentations — often without real lymphatic education.

Most massage training barely touches lymphoedema, lipoedema or chronic oedema, yet these clients are already walking into our clinics.

This carousel explains why that matters — and why understanding the lymphatic system is becoming essential for safe, confident practice.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐩𝐨𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐚? 💜

✨ Chronic condition affecting mostly women
🦵 Disproportionate fat build-up in hips, thighs, buttocks & sometimes arms
🙅‍♀️ Hands & feet not affected — unlike lymphoedema
💢 Painful to touch & bruises easily
⚖️ Not caused by lifestyle — doesn’t respond to diet or exercise
🔁 Often progressive without early intervention
😞 Commonly misdiagnosed as obesity
🧠 Early recognition = better support & outcomes

Does this sound familiar?
🦵 Fat legs that bruise easily?
😫 Painful to touch?
😩 Always tired — and the weight just won’t shift?

👉 It might not be your fault. It might be lipoedema.

Please go gently: understanding lipoedema and why pressure matters.

As a Remedial Massage therapist we’re trained to use pressure - deep tissue, trigger points, firm strokes. And often clients expect “no pain, no gain”.

But women with Lipoedema are different.
We bruise easily.
Tissue is painful to touch.

What we need is gentle flat handed a effleurage. The right pressure is not just about comfort. It’s about care compassion and safety.

Big health changes often start with small daily habits. Drinking water, moving your body, eating real foods, sleeping well, and checking in with yourself can transform how you feel. You don’t need perfection — just consistency, patience, and kindness toward your body.

Our Story

Welcome to my page! I am a Remedial Massage Therapist with a passion for treating clients with compromised and serious health conditions. I could have chosen to study Physiotherapy but instead went down the path of Remedial Massage because after working in medical admin for over 20 years, it was clear that people undergoing treatment of life threatening conditions were lacking touch. People can be fearful of “touch” when their loved one is so frail and unwell. Quite quickly I went on to specialise in massage for oncology clients which led me to study the management of lymphoedema, lipoedema, pre and post surgery massage to help prevent and or relieve oedema including liposuction.

I am a member of the Australasian Lymphology Association (ALA) and the National Lymphology Practitioner Register (NLPR), Oncology Massage Limited and Massage & Myotherapy Australia and hold a current and updated Trainer and Assessor qualification.

It is very rewarding to have the skillset to make a profound difference to someone’s quality of life. A large percentage of my client base have had, or are undergoing, treatment for cancer; lymphoedema; lipoedema; fibromyalgia; chronic illness; stress; “text-neck”pain; headaches; venous problems. My qualifications include Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy (Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Compression Garment fitting, bandaging for lymphoedema), Oncology Massage, massage for pre and post-surgery, Pregnancy Massage, ArōmaTouch Technique. I incorporate ASEA and Renu28 with amazing results into my treatment regimen for scar management, skin problems and wounds. I also use dōTERRA essential oils in my massage protocols. During your consultation it is my goal to not only treat you but to empower you with education on strategies for self-management saving you time and money. I am hopeful that you will leave my rooms feeling confident that you can implement these resources. Of course, I am very happy to see you for required follow up and will liaise with your medical team. If your group would like an educational session, please get in touch. This would include topics on compression, diaphragmatic breathing, self-massage for lymphoedema/lipoedema, use of sequential pneumatic compression pump, etc.

I look forward to helping you on your way to better health and wellness, feeling younger and looking younger.
