About Me...
I started practising Yoga just over Twenty years ago after it was suggested to me as a more effective tool to improve my posture and strength, rather than pumping iron at a gym. I had suffered with thoracic spinal problems for a few years due to poor posture and stiff, tight muscles. The fact that I am a hairdresser who is six feet tall would undoubtedly have been adding to the proble
m. The teacher was great and really knew her stuff. Since that time my spinal problems have been resolved and I have gone from strength to strength-literally! In time I discovered a teacher called Lyn Edwards who had trained with many well-known and experienced teachers worldwide, including BKS Iyengar. After practising with Lyn for five years, I embarked upon a teacher training course with the Australian College oh classical Yoga. I have now been teaching for about seven years. Yoga has transformed my life- both mentally and physically. While raising a family and living through the ups and downs of life, my one constant has been Yoga. It has helped me to keep my life balanced and grounded. I have practised many styles of yoga and now incorporate the best elements in my classes. A general class includes meditation, asana (postures), pranayama (breathing) and Yogic Philosophy and Savana( relaxation). My belief is that everyone should practise Yoga for optimum physical and mental health and wellbeing.
