A little celebration of big growth πŸŽ¨βœ¨πŸ’›

Here’s a bright, colourful declaration from a brave girl learning to celebrate her autistic brain. In just two sessions, she’s moved from feeling confused and negative to embracing awareness, clarity, and absolutely owning it. I couldn’t be prouder of her and the incredible shift she’s making!

A big thank you to St Martin de Porres School, Sheidow Park for celebrating Speech Pathology Week! πŸ’™ I’m proud to support their brilliant students and be part of this wonderful school community.

It’s Speech Pathology Week – So say hi to Peta!

You’ll find Peta at our school several days a week, providing assessment, intervention and speech therapy to our students, as well as valuable guidance and support for staff and families.

Helping with articulation, expressive language skills, literacy, emotional regulation and social skills – it’s a job Peta loves!

β€œI love hearing kids’ ideas and unique perspectives on life – they all have such lovely interests so I integrate those into therapy wherever I can to make those connections,” Peta says.

β€œThe staff and families here at St Martin’s are so dedicated and do everything they can to help students.

β€œI love seeing the joy on kids’ faces when they walk into a session, and even more so when their communication skills shine.”

Thanks Peta!

Our Reading Bunny is hopping into exciting worlds of neurodiversity! πŸ“šπŸ°

Stories and resources are powerful tools for kids to learn about the different ways people think and learn. Each page invites curiosity, sparks important conversations, and encourages a deeper understanding of both themselves and others.

Embracing Neurodiversity Every Day! 🌈

Brains don't come in one size, shape, or style - and that's something worth celebrating every day.

As a speech pathologist, I believe in affirming practice that empowers individuals to be their authentic selves. I focus on embracing differences - not difficulties - breaking down barriers, challenging stereotypes, and highlighting the strengths that make each voice unique.

It's about celebrating every way of thinking, learning, and being!

How will you embrace the diversity of minds around you? 🌟🧠

Less than 2 weeks to go! πŸŽ’
The countdown is on - get ready for an amazing school year. Small steps at home can help support a smoother transition, but every child adjusts in their own way - and that's okay! ✨
