- Monroe Catholic Church, Tipperary, Ireland. Built in 1840 using elements of an earlier 1806 church. This may well have been the Church that the Keane family attended for Easter service before they left for Australia. We believe Michael Maher was working in the Monroe townland before he left also. The Church is located a short walking distance from Inch House where the Keane's may have been in service.

Where did your Irish ancestors attend Easter service in the 19th Century?

- These are some of the early Maher women who lead the way and created a legacy for their descendants - Anastasia and her daughters Louisa, Catherine and Mary Ellen. We are still learning their stories in the records that we find in the archives and the oral history that we share among us descendants.

- According to I have 5% DNA from the region of Northern Wales and North West England. At this stage I have not found genealogical evidence of this Welsh connection in my family tree. I'm keen to learn more and I cant say that I know much about Wales, so please make a post regarding your Welsh heritage on St David's day. Don't forget to hashtag

- The month of love for celebrating couples, friendship, renewal and anticipation. It is also the month of the Winter Olympics held in Italy this year and the Adelaide Fringe Festival.

The point of the list is to give you inspiration to post as frequent as you like to get out there and get the algorithm going to give you exposure. I've tried to piggy back on any significant events throughout the month and the idea is to relate your posts to genealogy and/or family history as much as you can but I also post a lot about myself and my life so you can get to know me. Just remember to hashtag on your posts to your social media accounts and like and comment on other genealogists posts as well to show your support.

- Sit down with a cup of hot chocolate on Hot Chocolate day and review a book that you read this month from your to read list that you made on 2/1/2026. Post a photo of the book and a cup of hot chocolate in the same frame.

I'm a slow reader and only got through one book this month - Bearbrass by Robyn Annear. Imagining Early Melbourne, in a style that I would like to master for my own historical fiction novel that I'm writing. Part retelling the life from historical records, newspapers, journals and facts; part creative storytelling by imagining other aspects of life not often recorded in the primary resources; intermixed with parallel comparisons and anecdotes of 20th century experiences of the great city of Melbourne. I met Robyn and her partner David a few times in the 1990's and they left a lasting impression that inspired me to pursue Archaeology, historical research and writing.

I found reference to 3 of my relatives in this book which was a bonus.

- Post a place West of you that you would like to travel to for family history.

I would like to go to Perth, Western Australia to the Karrakatta Cemetery to visit all my relatives buried there, and there's quite a few.
