The Pandora Social Entrapment practice model explores the ecological & familial environment around the coercive control pattern woven by the person perpetrating family violence. The training then builds on current professional skills in respectfully working with victimised survivors who have experienced coercive control in their relationships. The workshop covers practical skills designed specifically for case management interventions, individual/group counselling and trauma informed care, telehealth counselling, specialist family safety work and front-line crisis management.
Workshop focus areas:
• Centre the safety and wellbeing of women and children
• Explore in depth the nature and patterns of coercive control
• Understanding the insidious nature of social entrapment and the impact of coercive control patterns on the loss of individual autonomy and decision making
• Understand and work with intersectionality in assessment of risk
• Bringing knowledge together using effective skills and techniques in discussions with victim survivors
• Explore practitioner bias
This one-day face to face workshop is perfect for practitioners who work with women and children impacted by family violence as well as those working with men using family violence.
Post training resources include a free Community of Practice network to connect with other practitioners who undertake this work across Australia and a regular newsletter focused on practitioner professional development. The training uses interactive activities and small group discussions designed to explore ideas, provides reflection opportunities and a strong focus on knowledge and skill building.
