NDIS 2025 Price Guide Cuts Are Putting Kids at Risk
🟡Travel for therapists isn’t a luxury — it’s essential! 🟡
Home and community visits allow therapists to deliver family-centred, evidence-based care in real-life settings, as required by NDIS Practice Standards.
The NDIS’s own Practice Standards describes:
“Each participant accesses supports that engage their natural environment and enable inclusive and meaningful participation in the family and community life”
But the NDIS Price Limits do not allow this to happen.
Without fair travel funding:
❌Trials for Assistive Technology (wheelchairs, standing frame, hoists etc.) will not be able to happen at home, meaning these are less likely to be approved
❌Reviews and updates of Assistive Technology cannot be done – this means clients are at risk from equipment that doesn’t fit, is no longer fit for purpose and needs replacement
❌Participants and carers cannot be supported to learn how to use the equipment effectively and safely increasing injury risks
❌The skills and knowledge of the people looking after children every day (educators, teachers, support workers, and extended family) cannot be effectively supported by allied health professionals
❌Community-based programs like Playground Skills Group and Aquatic Physiotherapy that build foundation skills for independence, play and learning will be cut
Our team at Aquila Kids are passionate about Helping Kids Soar, but our wings will be clipped and Aquila Kids may be forced to cut home visits.
That means less access, less safety, and fewer outcomes for children.
