Introducing our C.H.E.F. Program — Cooking, Health, Education, and Fun.

Each session is a hands-on experience where participants learn real kitchen skills, food hygiene, nutrition basics, and how to prepare simple, healthy meals either to enjoy on-site or take home.

But it’s more than food — it’s about building confidence, teamwork, and independence. Cooking together becomes a space where social bonds form, goals are achieved, and everyone leaves with more than a full stomach.

This is everyday life training with purpose — and it's delicious, too.

Winter mornings can be slow and chilly, especially for those we care for.
A calming and comforting routine can make a significant difference in how the day begins.

Here’s a gentle routine to try with your loved one:
☕ Share a warm drink together - tea, hot choc, or even warm milk
🧦 Dress in soft, cosy layers to feel safe and comfortable
🕯️ Set the mood with soft lighting or a calming scent in the room
💬 Start with a simple conversation or a positive affirmation

These small moments help create connection, calm, and confidence to begin the day with purpose.

At CJ Castle, we work alongside families and carers to build daily routines that support both body and mind - because your wellbeing matters too

You’re not in this alone. We’re now accepting new participant referrals.

Winter can bring extra challenges, especially for adults with disabilities ❄️❄️

Cold mornings, reduced mobility, and spending more time indoors can affect both physical and emotional well-being.

At CJ Castle, we support our clients through the colder months with warmth, safety, and care.

1️⃣ Keep Moving: Even gentle movement at home can help improve circulation and boost mood. Our support workers can help with stretching, light walks, or indoor activities.

2️⃣ Eat warm & nourishing meals: Hot meals like soups, stews, and porridge help maintain energy and body warmth, and we love supporting clients in the kitchen.

4️⃣ Stay Social (Even from home): Isolation can increase in winter. Whether it's a support visit, a call with family, or a trip to the local café, connection matters.

With the right support, winter doesn’t have to mean missing out. CJ Castle is here to help you live well, all year round.

We currently have capacity for new NDIS participants on the Mornington Peninsula! If you or someone you know is looking for personalised, caring disability support, get in touch today. 📞 (03) 5978 0991 💻 www.cjcastle.com.au

Breaking news : update from National Disability Services about the release of NDIS prices for 2025–26.

This announcement refers to new pricing arrangements and price limits set by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), which will take effect from 1 July 2025.

The changes are based on findings from the Annual Price Review and recommendations from the Independent Pricing Committee.

Key Context and Details

Purpose of the Announcement
- The NDIA reviews and updates NDIS pricing annually to ensure the scheme remains fair, sustainable, and in line with broader market rates, such as those charged through Medicare or private health insurance.
- The 2025–26 update aims to make pricing more equitable and to address concerns that NDIS participants have sometimes paid higher rates (“NDIS premiums”) for certain therapies compared to other Australians.

Major Pricing Changes
- Disability support worker supports: Price limits will increase by 3.95%, reflecting the recent Fair Work Commission minimum wage rise and superannuation increases.
- Therapy supports: Prices for psychology are now standardized nationally at $223.99 per hour. Physiotherapy prices have been reduced to $183.99 per hour, with similar reductions for dietitians and podiatrists.
- Support coordination: No change for level 2 and 3 support coordination; level 1 receives a 3.95% increase.
- Plan management: Set-up costs and remote/very remote loadings can no longer be claimed.
- Other supports: Some price limits for therapies have been reduced to align with non-NDIS market rates, following data showing previous NDIS rates were sometimes up to 68% higher than elsewhere.

Rationale and Broader Impact
- The changes are informed by the largest data set yet, including Medicare and private health claims, to benchmark NDIS prices against the broader market.
- The Independent Pricing Committee’s final report, released alongside the new prices, recommends moving beyond a “one-size-fits-all” hourly pricing model and toward more tailored, tiered pricing based on participant needs and service quality.
- The NDIA aims to ensure that participants continue to receive high-quality, value-for-money supports and that the provider market remains sustainable and competitive.

Sector Response
- While the price increase for some supports is welcomed, peak bodies like National Disability Services have expressed concern that reductions and stagnation in therapy and early childhood intervention prices may threaten the viability of quality service providers, especially for complex needs.
- There are calls for urgent reform and temporary pricing relief to maintain market stability and prevent provider exits.

The changes are intended to make NDIS pricing more equitable, sustainable, and aligned with the broader Australian health sector, but have also sparked debate about the potential impact on service quality and provider sustainability.
