The lower back series:
The most common injuries I see on a regular are SIJ strains and Disc Herniations. Both are very treatable and tend to be similar in presentation.

The lower back series:
The lower back is split into two things, the lumbar spine and the pelvis. They work together to move you through bending, walking, sitting and standing and any other movements you can think of!
“Lift with your leg” was created because the lower spine is not meant for bending, it’s meant for load bearing (your torso mainly) and the pelvis is meant for the rest. If you bend at your hips, you are stronger due to the engagement of your glutes (the biggest muscle in the body) vs your back which is made of long thin muscles which are mainly used to stabilize you.
It’s an incredible design but so easily damaged.
Look after your back! It’s will support you your whole life 🥸
