What a week so far!! We just had our amazing Homeschooling Building Connections Program yesterday. Due to privacy, I can’t post too many photos but it was such a lovely day seeing new connections!! Seeing kids, families stepping out and meeting our gorgeous horses, trying something new and seeing such fabulous creative expression incorporating nature into art!!

Im so excited that we are extending our team!!
We are on the lookout for an exceptional Occupational Therapist or a student OT that is about to graduate!! This is a flexible part time position, so you can still do family and or run your own business!!
We want to be able to offer a range of allied health services to our existing clients and to our new clients!!
We found our amazing Art Therapist, Kelly, so now to find our OT!!

Yes the long School Holidays are just around the corner!!
Wondering what you can do with your kids in January?

Save the date - 13th january !!
A program with a difference and something for everyone!!

Our Program;
Equine Activities - patting, playing, grooming, leading mini horses and maybe for the confident ones big horses!! Conducted by Equine Assisted Therapists this is hands on and tailored to each individual and their confidence and capability. No horse experience is needed. No riding included.

Team Building / active acitivities - that encourages movement, healthy competition, play and of course loads of fun!! Conducted by qualified Child Care Worker and Sports Facilitator.

Art - everything from outdoor splash paint to indoor art programs for quiet time. Find your creative expression. Conducted by Art Therapist.

Finally wrapping up the day with scavenger hunt, water play on sand arena. Change of clothes needed at the end of program.

Its action packed but plenty of quiet time too with a mix of programs!!
NDIS Participants are welcome.
We will provide morning tea, but you will need to bring lunch with your kids.

Let’s talk PDA!! Pathological Demand Avoidance often associated with Autism, characterised by anxiety-driven need to avoid everyday demands.

One of my client’s parent attended a conference and sent me these slides. So impressed that the experts are now realising why traditional room based therapy is just not effective for people with Autism, high anxiety and PDA.
Why?
The first slide explains it clearly - sessions need to be child led, non confrontational, experiential!! Be in a place where they are empowered and they get to choose if they want to talk or not want to talk. Doing what they love to do!! I love how Equine Assisted therapy, nature based therapy and art therapy is so supportive, effective and can make such a big difference in a life of a child, teenager and adult!!

What a pleasure it has been to support, care and serve this great family as their Equine Assisted Therapist. It’s such a privilege to see individuals grow, heal, overcome, not because of me as the Counsellor, but because we can hold a safe space of BEing. Being present, experiencing calm, being in nature, expressing through creativity and connection and just BEIng their true and wonderful authentic self! The alternative to traditional room based therapy!!
