Sokola Radonic’s ageing secret!

Sokola Radonic is a homemaker in Zagreb, Croatia. She is aged 101 at the time of writing and she confirms Mr Cheng’s findings.

“What contributed to my longevity? Nature, food, singing in a choir until my 80s, and dancing,” she told The Guardian in a report on centenarians.

“You need to have lots of patience and to endure some things. You shouldn’t quit right away. For happiness, health is the most important – and love for other people. Wealth is in last place.”

Diverse cultures, one universal act: here’s what caring looks like in different corners of the globe
Caring for our loved ones is a universal act of kindness and devotion, yet the way it’s approached can differ greatly across various cultures and countries. And while the act of caring transcends cultural boundaries, the way it is practiced can vary dramatically from one culture – and country – to another.

We look at how caring differs around the globe, exploring how different cultures care for their loved ones.

For this National Geographic photo shoot, Angelina Jolie did not bathe for 7 days because bees are sensitive to smells and will not sting when the smell is too strong.
Thousands of bees were flying around the actor during the photo shoot.
The session was held in honor of World Bee Day, with Angelina Jolie posing with bees for 18 minutes... a noble and risky gesture to honor the insects that play a fundamental role in our nature.

Nostalgia!
Fresh air and sunlight were the medicine of choice before vaccines and medications were available to treat tuberculosis (TB).
Sanatorium facilities were set up to treat TB and used the principles of
isolation, fresh air, exercise, and good nutrition to get their patients well again.
These boys were pictured in the early 1900s during a sun exposure treatment at the Cashmere Hills Sanatorium in Christchurch.
Medication for TB had advanced by the 1940s, and all sanatoriums were closed by the 1960s.
