Boy Under the Bridge

Boy Under the Bridge Counsellor | Writer | Seeker Boy Under the Bridge is my platform where I document my journey to the brighter side of life.

I chose the alias of ‘boy’ because if there’s anything we should cherish and keep from our childhood, it’s the way we see the world. Children see things with curiosity, creativity, awe and possibility. This is the essence of our inner child we should never lose touch with. My content covers the themes of philosophy, personal growth and mental health. And I also offer individual counselling to directly support those seeking to make changes in their lives.

I've come to value mistakes and just figuring things out. I was raised to accept help, sometimes too much. Thinking if someone can do it better/ has more experience than I should hand things over. But it's not just about the end result.

A reflection from my Mt Everest Basecamp trek in 2017.

Still one of the most majestic parts of the world I've ever seen.

Is there a time you've focused more on the journey over the destination?

A short summary of what it was like to walk the Camino De Santiago - 700+ km across Spain!

I've written a longer blog and uploaded a bunch of photos on my blog, too.

This was something I had long in the works for almost a decade, so completing it was a dream come true (minus the bed bugs).

Is the Camino something you'd want to do?

1 year ago, three Australian Amigos left a tiny town on the French border and started their 800km walk across Spain.

Despite it being a huge struggle, and thinking about lying on the couch at home, I often find myself missing the open road. At the time, I couldn't understand why people go back. But now I do.

I definitely do.

A month off is hard to come by, but something I've come to appreciate about the Camino is that it comes with you.

Once you walk The Way, you never just 'walk' again. Even if it is just laps around the block, my mind goes somehow different.

I remind myself that the freedom I found is still mine. And any time I feel lost, I can reclaim it step by step.

More photos and writing to come.

Raksha mask is a mask that Sri Lankans use a lot in festivals and cultural dances. Raksha means “demon” and the masks are apotropaic which means that it is intended to ward off evil.

The Mayura Raksha is believed to bring peace, harmony and wealth, according to the superstition of Sri Lankan culture. The masks represent three beautifully feathered peacocks on the sides and top of the mask.
