Our Scotchmans Creek Care Community has organised a monthly intergenerational playgroup!

The first get-together in August put smiles on the faces of all who attended. Developing connections between children and our elders can have a remarkably positive effect on wellbeing and makes for wonderful memories.

Throughout the session, our team played nursery songs along with a mix of current and traditional favourite tunes 🎼

Our Hansworth Care Community celebrated NAIDOC Week with creative flair making their own unique dot paintings 🖌️

Residents listened to Indigenous music including the earthly harmonies from the didgeridoo, whilst putting paint to paper and making some lovely creations to display.

Some residents were so engaged with the activity that they decided to take it a step further and try their hands and face painting as well. A lovely afternoon had, whilst acknowledging our elder's past, present and emerging.

At BlueCross Oakleigh, residents enjoyed an afternoon of fresh flower arranging thanks to the generous donations from Flemington Racecourse 🌻

As the scent of the flowers lingered through the hallways, inquisitive residents made their way to the lounge to assist with the arranging making up lovely bouquets and displays.

Once the vases were filled, staff placed the flowers around the home for all to enjoy, a lovely afternoon had by all 🥀

At BlueCross Willomeade, residents and staff came together to honor June and her life story, 100 years in the making! ❤️

June’s story was beautifully put together and after many months working on this project, Duncan, from Beyond Words, presented the book to June and read aloud some chapters, showcasing the wonderful life she has had.

Just listening to Duncan read, the audience were captured in what felt like a beautiful movie. A credit to Duncan on the book and well-done June for sharing the life that you have led 🌻

June had a dream of having a miniature pony at her party. With that in mind the Lifestyle team set themselves the task of helping make her wish come true and they were overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community!

Family, fellow residents and staff gathered around Rex as he made a wish followed by enjoying a delicious slice of his cake 🍰

BlueCross Box Hill's Men's Group recently hosted BlueCross Broughtonlea's Men's Group for a friendly game of pool 🎱

The residents enjoyed spending time in the company of one another around the billiards table for healthy and friendly competition. Other resident’s chose to observe the group from the sidelines while enjoying some drinks and snacks and cheering on the men.

A wonderful opportunity to mingle and make new social connections within our BlueCross community 😀
