Heartbeat of Football

Heartbeat of Football Promoting heart health through sport There is a tendency to focus on heart issues only after a tragedy, however Heartbeat of Football aims to change this.

In Australia, it is believed there have been 10 cases of heart-related deaths of amateur football players in the past two years, with the latest on a Sunday morning in January 2016. As ever-increasing members of the community see the benefits of, and enjoy taking part in, amateur sport, Heartbeat of Sport is proactive in both education to prevent heart-related events, and in procuring the necessar

y equipment (in the form of defibrillators) to help prevent deaths following on-field heart incidences.

FUNDRAISING

Heartbeat of Football (HOF) is constantly fundraising so as to allow the purchase of defibrillators for placement on sporting grounds around the country. If you are hosting an event and would like to help HOF raise money, or would like to make a donation, please contact Deborah at info@heartbeatoffootball.com.au

Another busy weekend for the Heartbeat of Football Foundation as we delivered back to back testing activations as part of the Northern NSW Football Indigenous Round covering female matches (Saturday) and male matches (Sunday) at the home of Newcastle Olympic FC.
These activations were funded by the support from the NSW Office of Sport and the ongoing commitment from the NSW Sport Minister Steve Kamper who has made heart health a priority. It’s always great to engage with Olympic FC but equally delightful to have visitors from Football Mid North Coast & Edgeworth Eagles FC also get a free check up. Community football at its best.🤗🤗🤗

Our # program was in Campbelltown yesterday with our team honoured to be activating at the Naidoc Family Fun Day. We had a constant lineup for our blood pressure, blood sugar, and total cholesterol checks. It was great to be part of an event filled with colour, interactive stalls, and so many community service providers. It was an amazing showcase of some invaluable services provided for the indigenous Aboriginal community in the Tharawal district.

Wow, what an absolutely amazing response today at Castle Hill Aquatic Centre, with so many members and staff taking the opportunity for a Health Check. It was great to see a constant line of people eager to know their numbers for blood pressure, blood sugar, and total cholesterol. A huge thank you to CHRSL Your local club Grants and Castle Hill RSL Club for your support in bringing our program to the community.

Seven years ago on this day Heartbeat of Football Ambassador Chris Minol had bypass heart surgery. Life changing in so many ways but life saving as well.
Chris has been one of our greatest advocates. He is the driving force of the Jason Connolly Memorial Cup which has now become our Charity’s biggest sponsor on the back of Jason’s family electing to donate all funds raised to our heart health testing days. Jason and Chris were besties.❤️🙏
Today the Mount Druitt Town Rangers FC were the recipients of a testing day donated via the JC Cup - one which the club major sponsor Ribs And Roast elected to provide for the Blacktown District Soccer Football Association club which also play in the Football NSW NPL competitions. Congratulations to one and all for such a great level of engagement and hospitality which was also greatly appreciated by the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute nurses Sarah and Livy.🤗👍🤗

Yesterday, courtesy of Club Grants, we were able to bring our testing program to 2 clubs. Thank you to Lynwood Golf and Country Club and Club Parramatta for hosting us. We will be doing it all again on Saturday 12th at Castle Hill Bowling Club and then on Wednesday 16th at Castle Hill Fitness & Aquatic Centre.

HeartKids and Heartbeat of Football Foundation (HoF) are excited to announce a new partnership to support Australians living with heart disease – particularly teens, adults and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This collaboration bridges two critical areas of heart health: HeartKids’ lifelong support for people with childhood-onset heart disease (CoHD), and Heartbeat of Football’s expertise in prevention, education, and screening across community sporting environments.

Together, we are committed to increasing early detection and empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools to better manage heart conditions—whether congenital, acquired, or lifestyle-related.
