✨️ Exciting News at Beyond Speech! ✨️

Our Orofacial Myology team has now expanded to five clinicians and we couldn’t be prouder!

A huge congratulations to Holly, Abby, and Leisl, who have officially completed their Orofacial Myology training and are now fully qualified to support our clients in this highly important area.

With their new skills, they’re ready to help children and adults develop:
👃 Healthy nasal breathing
🗣 Clearer, more efficient speech
🍽 Stronger chewing and safe swallowing patterns
😊 Optimal facial and oral development

Leadership Team Day 💛

What an incredible day with our amazing Leadership Team! I am so grateful for Jackie and Laura — their dedication, hard work, and genuine care make Beyond Speech stronger every single day. Our whole team benefits from the way they show up, support others, and help drive our mission forward.

We spent the morning at our local RACV Club in Healesville, reviewing our last 120-day plan and setting exciting new goals for the next 120 days — all with the most beautiful view overlooking the valley.

From there, we headed to Meletos for a delicious lunch, followed by some well-earned relaxation at Il Massaggio Day Spa.

Feeling energised, aligned, and so proud of the incredible leadership we have at Beyond Speech.

Not only did Andrea have the great honour of witnessing her daughter, Molly, graduate with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology from ACU Melbourne but also two of our newest team members, Hannah Sowden and Amber McAuley!!

Pro-Chancellor of ACU, Virginia Bourke, reminded the graduates of their duty to embody the values of ACU and to act in truth and love, striving for a better community for all. This has all of us feeling both proud and grateful for this profession and magnificent cohort of new Speech Pathologists!

Reflections on some recent professional development from Andrea …

Our Orofacial Myology team had the incredible opportunity to attend the Melbourne leg of Linda D’Onofrio’s Functional Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy workshop, kindly hosted by AAOM (Australian Association of Orofacial Myology).

The two-day advanced workshop on Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMD) provided an in-depth exploration of both diagnostic and treatment processes, equipping us with valuable insights to further enhance our clinical practice.

Linda D’Onofrio shared her expertise in craniofacial disorders, oromyofunctional disorders, feeding difficulties, dysphagia, sensory-motor speech disorders, and sleep-disordered breathing, including sleep apnoea—areas that directly align with our caseload.

It was a fantastic weekend of learning and collaboration, connecting with other Victorian-based colleagues, including speech pathologists, dental professionals, osteopaths, and more.

A huge thank you to the AAOM for hosting, Linda for sharing her knowledge and to our dedicated team at Beyond Speech for their commitment to professional growth. We’re excited to integrate these learnings into our work!

We’re excited to welcome our two newest Speech Pathologists to the Beyond Speech team! 🎉

✨️ Amber and Hannah have both recently completed their Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Australian Catholic University in Melbourne.

✨️ Amber has experience working in hospitals, schools, clinics, and special education. These varied experiences have equipped her with the skills to support individuals across the lifespan in their goals to improve their communication and educational outcomes.

✨️ When not at work, Amber can be found painting, reading a new book, going to the beach, or hanging out her cat Toby.

✨️ Hannah is passionate about helping her clients achieve their goals and is excited to collaborate with clients and their families to ensure that therapy outcomes are meaningful for everyday life.In her spare time,

✨️ Hannah enjoys going on walks, reading, and trying new foods in her local area.

Hannah and Amber have had a fantastic start at Beyond Speech! They’ve shared how supported they feel and how much they’re learning and growing through our structured and detailed Graduate Program
