"Hyggelig Sacred Haven"
Hyggelig (hue-ga-li) is a Danish word meaning belonging and togetherness; an experience of selfhood and communion with people that anchors and affirms us; feeling of belonging to the moment and to each other. The connection to Denmark began when I was 16yrs old when I embarked on a journey from Australia to Denmark as an exchange student. The family I stayed with became my second family and second home still to this day. Hyggelig was a word and term used often within the Danish language and for me is an embodiment of the Danish people - welcoming, cosy and warm. Sacred - (as defined by 'Britannica"); as the power, being, or realm understood by spiritual persons to be at the core of existence and to have a transformative effect on their lives and destinies. To add to that, my perspective of Sacred is safe, to be held, a returning home to center, to truth. Sacred has an instant rapport for me that it is a safe place for me to show up however I need too to transform. It is sacred to the individual and connected to the universal field of we are all one. Haven - (as defined by Cambridge dictionary); a safe or peaceful place. This to me encapsulates the whole space. From the moment one enters this land a warm and welcoming feeling invites a safe place to unwind and return to self. Hyggelig Sacred Haven is open and welcome for all to experience.
