I apologise to all my lovely followers for my absence over the past few months. I hope you are all navigating your way through the new normal with positivity and taking care of YOUR own needs as well.

This year has been particularly challenging as I have struggled to overcome a number of injuries that have forced me away from treating patients. As frustrating as it has been, it has been a good time to reflect on the needs of myself and my family.

It is with some sadness I have decided to close my books and take indefinite leave from Myotherapy into 2022, and pursue other areas of interest. I am and always will be a passionate Myotherapist and am always available for referrals to other practitioners, so please contact me if needed.

Thank you for your kind messages of support this year. I hope you all enjoy the festive season and wish you good health and happiness in 2022.

A very well written article that explains how a Myotherapist can help with all types of musculoskeletal issues. A question I have been asked a thousand times over the past 16 years! πŸ˜„

πŸ”Š AND IT'S A GO FOR METRO MELBOURNE MYOTHERAPISTS!

Fabulous news for our Melbourne myotherapists and their patients. Melbourne will move out of lockdown and into the Third Step. We have had confirmation from the CAHO - routine care for myotherapy re-open Wednesday morning 27th October.

We welcome the Victorian government’s decision to look at the evidence and listen to the hundreds of myotherapists, patients and referring practitioners who have asked for myotherapists to be allowed to return to face-to-face care, just like their allied health colleagues.

Myotherapy is essential.

We are elated at today’s announcement that Melbourne myotherapists can resume in-person care from 11:59pm on Tuesday October 27th.

Well done to all of our members and your patients in Melbourne for your and tenacity, we applaud you.

Despite yesterday's announcement, Myotherapy is NO permitted to resume services from today. Our association are fighting tooth and nail for us and I hope for some good news soon. As soon as I have confirmation I can let you all know!
In the meantime, stay strong and stay safe πŸ’ͺ

I received news today that Myotherapy can expect to open for face to face care no sooner than October 19th, or the 3rd step in the Premier's roadmap to reopening Melbourne. Myotherapy Association Australia have advocated incredibly hard to have us recognised as essential healthcare, but unfortunately the DHHS have stood their ground. The only exception to the rule are those with an endorsed care plan from NDIS or Workcover.

So we will sit tight (literally!) for a bit longer. My heart breaks that I cannot help so many of you with deteriorating and acute conditions, and I look forward to being able to book you all in soon. Please take care until then!

So incredibly frustrating that I cannot help my patients sooner, who I know have had to wait too long as it is for treatment. Will be writing a letter to the government tonight too!!

Today, we were informed that the Victorian government is continuing to restrict access to face-to-face myotherapy services.

12/09/2020

Still no indication at which "Step" in the roadmap out of Stage 4 restrictions that Myotherapy will be permitted, hopefully will get more info next week 🀞
I believe we will be heavily restricted initially, most likely for more urgent or severe cases, before I can eventually resume routine treatments. I appreciate your patience and once I receive more clarity I will be in touch with you all. Take care and hang in there! πŸ™

06/08/2020

After a confusing and frustrating few days, we finally have some clarity. The DHHS advise for Allied Health (Myotherapy) is it is limited to care that "prevents a significant deterioration in functional independence that would result in an escalation of care" (eg.hospital, ER, specialist etc). This means that no routine treatments are to be permitted, and only under critical circumstances can face to face treatment take place.
Unfortunately this means I will not be taking on any patients for the next 6 weeks. If there are any changes I shall let you all know asap.
I am here for you all at this difficult time, please message me and I can organise a phonecall with you if you have any concerns with your healthcare. Please stay safe and well, we will get through this! Jess

Trying times return here in Vic, 6 more weeks of Stage 3 restrictions. Myotherapy is considered an essential service so I will continue practicing with strict hygiene and cleaning protocols in place. Please advise if you have any symptoms of cold or flu, however mild, and we will reschedule. There will be no cancellation fee at this time, we all need to stay safe and well!! Remember you are not alone - we will get through this together with the determination & resilience Victorians are famous for! πŸ’œ

I will be returning to work in the coming weeks, please let me know if I can be of any help to you at this time. 🌈

We are excited to welcome in myotherapy awareness week 2020 next week. This is a great opportunity to support one another and to reinforce what Government have already said: myotherapy is an essential service

Let's share our skills and knowledge and demonstrate what makes us essential.
