Happy February. 💛 Are you feeling the shift yet?

In Chinese astrology, 2025 was the Year of the Snake (shedding, letting go, listening). 🐍 2026 is the Year of the Horse (momentum, agency, moving forward). 🐎

Lately, I’ve been feeling that transition. Between big shifts at work and my eldest daughter finishing school, there’s been a lot of “shedding” in my world.

But this weekend, I found my momentum in the simplest place: washing my windows. It sounds basic, but it was a revelation. It wasn’t about frantic productivity — it was about finally having the clarity to see what’s ahead.

If your “view” feels a bit blurry, I’d love for you to join me this Wednesday.

My Term 1 meditation group is a 9-week journey from Snake to Horse. We aren’t just sitting still; we’re learning how to let go of the old skin and find our stride again without the burnout.

Love this job so much 🫶

I’m now offering private mindfulness coaching and today’s first session has filled completely my cup.

Obviously I’m obsessed with meditation 🤪 but I sometimes forget how many people are brand new to it and haven’t yet experienced just how magical it can be.

When we open our eyes and I see all tension has left the body, frown lines softened, and even that serene Buddha-smile has appeared, it brings me joy. A taste of the kind of life one can live with meditation in it.

I’ll be happy when…
I’ll be okay when…
I’ll be at peace when…

If we only allow ourselves to feel happiness, peace, or even just okay-ness after an external condition is met (Insert: the job, the holiday, the partner, the clean house), then we’re constantly postponing our own well-being.

When I moved house recently, I caught myself thinking:

I’ll be happy when… the boxes are unpacked.
I’ll be happy when… everything’s organised. 🤯

But my meditation practice helped me catch that pattern as it arose, and to more clearly see the reality of now.

Yes, things were messy. Yes, I probably would feel more ease once everything was in place.

But what about this moment?
What could I soften into now?

Could I find a sliver of peace among the chaos? A sense of okay-ness, even without resolution?

The more I practise, the more I realise:
I don’t want to spend my life waiting for peace.

I want to meet it here, box by box, breath by breath.

🌪️ When the storm rages outside, can we find stillness within? 🌪️

In the middle of Cyclone Alfred, I was reminded of how meditation helps us weather both literal and emotional storms. With each breath, I found grounding, patience, and the ability to stay present in the chaos. 🌬️

Mindfulness teaches us that nothing lasts forever. The storm will pass, and we can hold onto our inner shelter through it all. Whether you’re facing external challenges or internal emotional waves, meditation offers us an anchor to stay steady.

On this Valentine's Day, how can we love ourselves, and others, a little better? ♥️🌿

In Buddhist practice, lovingkindness, or “metta”, helps us cultivate patience, connection, and goodwill—not just toward those we find easy to love, but even (especially) when we or others are, as puts it, "mildly irritating."

Take a moment with these reflections. How do they land with you?

✨ May I soften the way I speak to myself and notice when I’m judging others.

✨ May I assume people are doing their best with what they have—just as I am.

✨ When I’m struggling, may I remember that struggle is universal, and I’m not alone.

✨ May I see when I’m comparing myself and refocus on my own path.

✨ May I take care of myself so I can care more deeply for others.

✨ May I listen to my intuition so I can live with greater honesty.

✨ May I see, too, how I can be lazy, selfish, dishonest, arrogant, disorganised, and hypocritical.

✨ May I give myself—and others—permission to be imperfect.

✨ May I move through the world with less rigidity.

✨ May I remember I’m part of something bigger and my patience makes the world a little softer.

. I recently joined Snapchat (I know, I know, late to the party) and while the filters are fun (scroll to the end to see how I amuse myself) the best filter I’ve come to realise is meditation. 🧘‍♀️

Close your eyes, become present, let the mental chatter subside. And when you open them, notice how colours pop, textures enliven, and beauty is everywhere.

I mean EVERYWHERE.

Real beauty.

A life lived through the filter of mindfulness is the most brilliant, authentic and mesmerising of all.
