Today we had a "mental health day". In the lead up to the end of the year my pre-primary boy is tired, which shows up in many different ways. Rather than push through until the end of the term I offered him a day off which he agreed he needed.
We went for a bush walk which I'm not going to lie was a challenge, there was lots of emotions and whinning, but we push through and it worked as a nice reset which was my intention.
A day to take things at his own pace, a day of not being told what to do, a day of not taking on other people's stress, a most importantly a day with his safety net.

A little reminder to have compassion for your little ones leading into the silly season, they are already tired after a year of school.

My son came to me yesterday and his words started off, I'm sorry mummy but I accidentally did ....
This was like music to my ears because I knew he felt comfortable coming to tell me what he had done wrong.
One of my goals as a parent is to have an open and honest relationship with my kids and this felt like a pat of the back in appreciation for what I have been trying to implement since he was little.
A big reminder that we are all out there trying to do our best and sometimes we get lost in the things that aren't working rather than focusing on all the things that are working.

Starting school and returning to school can bring up many big feelings for our little ones. This is a reminder to love them through this transition, hear their feelings and support them as best you can.

If you find over the next couple of weeks your little ones are not coping well with drop off's or after school I would love to help.

Kinesiology can support with separation anxiety and fears that pop up during this transition as well as calming the nervous system.

This is my son who is starting PP, the transition has been super smooth so far apart from not wanting to wear underwear 🤭

I'm back seeing clients from Feb onwards ❤️
